Kata Hill Sea View Hotel in Kata

Honestly, I think it's better to stay somewhere on Karon Beach for the same price, right on the beachfront, rather than here. Yes, there's a sea view, but you'll also face an uphill walk to the hotel, and then another climb up to the 3rd floor via a steep staircase. There's no cafe here, but thankfully, there's another hotel across the street that offers a breakfast buffet for 350 baht.

The room itself is nice and spacious, with new furniture, bedding, and a view. However, you can hear everything happening outside – motorbikes, music, etc. If you're a light sleeper, this place isn't for you: 5/10. The bathroom is so-so: there's no shower cabin, the faucet is old, and the water heater is old. You'll be showering next to the toilet and will need to use a squeegee to clean up the water. There's also no laundry service nearby.

The beach is a 5-6 minute walk away, but the view isn't great, as you walk through small streets to get there.

If we compare it to Karon Beach:
1) Kata Beach has small pebbles in the sand, while Karon doesn't.
2) Drinks (coconuts/shakes) are twice as cheap on Kata.
3) Karon is very quiet, while Kata is noisy but has more shops and cafes, as it's active on two sides, whereas Karon is only on one.
