A-One Bangkok Hotel in Bangkok

When I arrived to check in, they told me they'd show me to my room, which confused me. Then they informed me that the room type I booked wasn't available. If I hadn't had so much luggage, I would have just left. The location isn't great, making it very inconvenient for getting around.

My husband and I are light sleepers, so when we booked, we specifically requested a quiet room away from the elevator. The first night, the room they gave us was impossible to sleep in: the sounds of cars and motorcycles downstairs were as if they were right next to us. When we woke up in the morning, we realized the window gap was so wide you could fit a finger through it, offering absolutely no soundproofing. We discussed it with the hotel and moved to a room across the hall. The second night, a student group arrived, and the gap under the door was 5 cm wide. My door stopper had to be fully extended to even work, and I ended up losing another two hours of sleep. On the third night, people started working across the way after 1 AM. I tolerated it for over an hour, but it didn't stop, so I had to call the front desk to ask if they could stop whoever was making noise outside the window. After waiting for over an hour, the noise didn't decrease; it actually got louder. I had no choice but to rummage through my bag for earplugs. I finally managed to fall asleep after 4 AM. The next day, we had to leave Bangkok, and I was in terrible shape mentally. Light sleepers, beware when booking this place.
