We stayed in the double VIP room, the room was big and clean, the staff was nice and friendly.
The balcony is nice to have if you smoke, good view during the day.
However, you need to know it is very noisy at night (my AirPods with noise cancellation saved me ahaha).
The WiFi doesn’t really work, the shower isn’t hot, it is lukewarm and I got a little bit annoyed with the holder that isn’t holding the handle right so you can’t shower with two hands free.

We had a terrible time in the hostel.
The room was stinck as he'll, the bed sheets was torn and we have 5 cocrouch in the bathroom.
We slept in the family room and payed to much money for what we get.
I'm telling u to get away from this place!

Booked a superior room and didn't get ANY sleep, it's oriented towards the intersection between two big roads and traffic DOES NOT STOP(Video taken at 4am), the only thing protecting your ears are poorly closing glass sliding doors which do NOTHING, the reception is also closed at 6 so by the time you realize it won't stop there is nobody to talk to about changing the room or getting a refund, it's HORRIBLE and I lost the entire next day because of zero sleep.

The toilet seat is damaged and you should not add water to the hand sanitizer because it is a breeding ground for germs.

I stayed at Iris Hostel for only one night out of three due to a serious bed bug issue in the dorm room. I was bitten badly and couldn’t sleep. Since it happened after midnight and no staff was around, I had to move to the lobby sofa — unfortunately, it was hot, there were mosquitoes, and even more bed bugs there. I was exhausted, ended up buying insect repellent at 4 AM, and had no choice but to return to the same bed.
It was a really uncomfortable experience. I’m not trying to attack the hostel, but I hope others don’t have to go through the same. On a positive note, the receptionist in the morning was very kind, apologized sincerely, and helped me process a refund through Agoda. The service part was decent overall.

The overall environment is quite dim, and the sheets and blankets are also dark, so you can't tell whether they are clean or not... (My hands are a little allergic, I don't know why) But the location is not bad, there are very popular restaurants and small markets nearby, close to the ancient city gate, and convenient transportation! The service is OK😌

The Iris Hostel Hotel in Chiang Mai is conveniently located, an 8-minute walk to Tha Pae Gate. The room has a small balcony that is bright and airy, and the floors are always clean and spotless.

I've said it and I'll keep saying it: location location location... Location and clean bathrooms are all I need and if you add comfortable beds, excellent AC, friendly staff and cheap it's a blessing to find places like this. This is one.
