Galaxy Hotel Sultanahmet in Istanbul

The room was spacious, wifi was great and is close to all the major attractions. Lady Larissa was also very helpful and allowed us to checkin before schedule. We were travelling around Turkey for a few days and they were kind enough to hold our extra luggage for a few days as courtesy. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We spent a long weekend (3 nights) there at the beginning of May, and it was ideal for a visit to Istanbul. Nice and close to the centre, but at the same time on a quiet street with little to no traffic to bother you.

The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily, albeit perhaps a little bit cheap - don't expect Hilton levels of luxury. So not somewhere you'd want to spend all day lounging about, but fine assuming you're planning on spending the day doing things. The beds were very comfortable and had sufficient linen. There was also a fridge and a kettle in the room with a few teabags, but that was about it. No room service although given the amount of restaurants and supermarkets nearby that was never an issue.

Out of hours there's no reception, but we had no problem turning up at midnight - just needed to coordinate with the owner via WhatsApp. He gave us keys which also opened the downstair front door.

There's no lift, and you can expect a fairly steep staircase both to enter the hotel and to get to your room. If you have mobility issues, this isn't the hotel for you.

Overall I'd be happy to stay here again - it was cheap and cheerful, but also clean and central. No complaints :)

Amazing experience. First of all, the hotel is ideally situated near Sultanahmet Square and the seafront. This allows for a lovely view of the sea and a mere 7-minute walk to the square. The rooms were perfect and always spotless by the time we returned. At no point did my friend and I feel unsafe during our stay. All in all, at its price point, we got much more than we asked for. I would like to thank Ahmed, the owner, for his hospitality personally. He personally dropped us off at the Marmaray and even bought us coffee. We are extremely thankful to him and the workers at Galaxy Hotel, who contributed to making our vacation comfortable, safe, and memorable.

In my opinion, hotel have neat and clean rooms and the service is good but the stairs are very narrow but the plus point of staying here is this that you can pay less and enjoy more here because it is close to all attractions like you can say, all the main attractions are on walking distance from here. So, if you are looking for an economical option, this hotel is best for you and your friends and family.
The hotel staff is very friendly and cooperative.
