Description

Zagreb Hotel is a four-star property constructed in 1999 and renovated in 2008, located in the heart of Istanbul's Old City. The hotel offers 58 rooms, including non-smoking options and room types such as Standard Double rooms with or without balconies and Standard Triple rooms. Facilities include a covered swimming pool, a restaurant, a bar, and free Wi-Fi throughout the premises. Additional services include car rental, currency exchange, laundry, and a 24-hour front desk. Guests can enjoy Turkish steam baths and massages onsite. While the hotel scores highly for its pool, location, price, service, cleanliness, and breakfast, reviews mention that rooms are quite small and some furniture is outdated. Practical for tourists aiming to explore Istanbul's main attractions on foot, Zagreb Hotel balances convenience with modest comfort.

The hotel is reasonably priced and has a very good location. The area feels safe and it is close to tram lines and public transportation, with many of the main tourist attractions within walking distance. This makes it a convenient option for sightseeing. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated the early check-in and the complimentary breakfast provided on the day of arrival. Wi-Fi quality is acceptable.

The small room size itself was expected and clearly stated in advance. However, the furniture layout is poorly designed and makes movement unnecessarily difficult. In particular, the large boxed TV takes up too much space and significantly limits mobility inside the room. The furniture is old, and some items appear worn and dirty.

Although breakfast offers some variety, the quality of the food is quite poor. The first floor of the hotel is under renovation, while the reception is located on the second floor. There is an elevator available, but the renovation work still makes the entrance area feel inconvenient and unfinished. A serious issue was housekeeping entering the room without knocking while we were inside, which is a major privacy concern. There are also occasional unpleasant smells in the hotel, and sometimes inside the room. In addition, COVID/quarantine notices are still displayed throughout the property, which makes the overall atmosphere feel outdated.

Overall, this hotel may be suitable for short stays where the main priority is location and exploring the city, but it is not an ideal choice for guests looking for comfort, cleanliness, and a modern environment.

It's right in the center of shopping. There's a pool, which I liked. The only problem is the rooms are very cramped.

Staff very friendly room was ok could do with up dateing Close to attractions easy to get around on foot. And breakfast was different but lots of choice. Over all had a good stay 20/26 October 2025 . Pool was heated and open staff on hand.

Just stayed at this place and honestly, the rooms are really not good. They were super tiny, and there was barely enough space to move around. Seriously, save yourself the trouble and avoid booking here if you don't want a disappointing stay. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Better to look elsewhere.

Our stay at Hotel Zagreb was wonderful. The staff are very friendly, and the food is delicious — especially the breakfast, which changes a bit every day, adding a nice touch of variety.

A special mention goes to Yunus at the front desk, who was incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived until the day we left. He welcomed us warmly, helped with our suitcases, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout our stay.

The hotel is clean, smells fresh, and is in a great location — close to Vezneciler metro station and the tram line that runs easily to Eminönü.

The room was a little small, but that didn’t affect our experience at all. We felt very welcomed and really enjoyed our time here.

I had a wonderful one-night stopover at the Zagreb Hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful, and the location was perfect, right next to markets and restaurants. My room was lovely, and I especially enjoyed the balcony overlooking the water. I highly recommend this hotel!

As advertised, basically. Except for the four-star rating - no idea where that came from.
A decent location, but inside the hotel is a bit sullen, sort of gloomy.
As others have said, the staff are very polite, but a bit awkward.
Our room was very small. Had to keep opening and closing the suitcase to get to the bathroom.
Breakfast sort of ok.
