Reviews
Overall, my stay was good (above average). While I wouldn't say it was a 4 or 5 star experience, it was significantly better than the Side Yesiloz Hotel which I stayed at the prior month.
The room was a bit small but with beautiful views from the balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful - most of them spoke English as well. There was plentiful food which was above average. There were numerous amenities and other services available on site. The location was reasonable. I also appreciated the plethora of cats on the premises.
I had a work roommate and the room ended up being tight for the two of us. We managed to push the beds a little apart from each other. At night it was noisy from music at the bar and from neighboring properties.
Unlike the Side Yesiloz, the Megasaray included internet, access to the room safe, and free alcohol (though I don't drink).
There was a wide variety of food. The food quality was better than that of the Side Yesiloz. While I did try various dishes, most of them were just okay and I did end up resorting to staples like eggs, waffles, fries, and pasta. Several of my colleagues commented that the desserts looked fancy but all tasted the same and were just average (this was an issue I saw at the Side Yesiloz). I did manage to find an occasional ice cream cart outside and a freezer full of ice cream bars near the bar which were better than the desserts offered inside.
I was surprised that breakfast lacked any sort of juice (other Turkish hotels have had breakfast juice). There was only water or coffee/tea variants for breakfast. But starting in the afternoon you could get various sodas (or alcohol) to drink. There was also a patisserie hidden on the main floor where you could get various desserts and coffee even if lunch hadn't started yet. In the afternoon, the entrance would have some delicious lemonade. The restaurant also offers some late night snacks.
My visit was during the off season so it was not too crowded.
There are numerous pools, slides, and other water activities for those interested (I did not use any of them). There was a spa/sauna, fitness room, small store, activity center for kids, playground, and places to play tennis/football/basketball.
The location is a short drive from the Sorgun Çamiçip public beach. If you want to go to the Manavgat city center or even further to the Side old city, you need to drive or take a bus. Google Maps doesn't give good information on local buses but the front desk was able to tell me how to get to the local mall (Nova Mall) to buy a simcard. It was easy and cheap taking the bus there.
And like many places in Turkey, there were cats all around (enjoy the cat pics)! The reception had a grey and white kitty which seemed to be a favorite of the staff. The rest of the cats tended to be in the restaurant area or outside. Some of the cats were very friendly, others were aloof. While most cats were at least tolerant of humans, not all liked to be pet and many of the cats got into fights with each other! There was also a cat house where the cats were fed dry food. They weren't supposed to be fed human food from the restaurant but I caught a few sneaky bandits helping themselves!
Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Megasaray and would be willing to recommend it to someone looking to spend multiple days at an all-inclusive resort in Manavgat/Antalya.
The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always smiling and ready to help with anything we needed. Communication was never a problem; everyone spoke English especially Gulce and Hilal from the guest relations team , and their hospitality felt truly genuine.
The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated with a modern touch.
Really clean, helpful friendly members of staff. Nice all inclusive food not gourmet standard but good.
Free shuttle to beach which had its own sunbeds, toilets and beach bar which includes food and drink. Loads of shops in area minute walk. Top tip- the lobby bar has a good selection of branded spirits included in all inclusive.
Short walk to th beach. There are cart that carry you to the beach. We preferred walking.
Good food. Algida ice-cream. A lot of places to eat.
We had a super suite with senzational view.
Minibar with beer, sodas and water. Bathrooms with everything you need.
Nice staff. Special mentions for the guest relations and especially for the guy at the reception (Yasin i think, my thanks).
