The only thing we would like to suggest is that the children's play area would be accessible the same hours as the swimming pool (7am-7pm). Now it is only open from 10am-5pm, and our kids wanted to play outside those hours too. Also, the sweat smell inside the play area was a bit strong.
Aside from its proximity to the exhibition center, dining options nearby are very inconvenient. You have to walk completely through the exhibition center (about 5-8 minutes) to get to the restaurants next to it (which aren't great anyway) and the nearby supermarket. Extremely inconvenient.
Prices in Dubai are significantly higher than in previous years. A typical lunch or dinner costs around 100-200 yuan per person.
My personal recommendation, if you don't have high expectations for hotel service (don't need daily cleaning) and just need a place to sleep for a few nights (only requiring cleaning every two or three days), which is the kind of guest I am, then I suggest you choose an apartment hotel just one exhibition center away (opposite and next to the DWTC metro station). It's located at another entrance of the exhibition center (not the IBIS), the price is more reasonable, and crucially, it's actually closer to the actual Halls 1-3.
