Holiday Inn Express London City by IHG in London

This little hipster haunt was kind of a surprise.
I went here on a whim, once again accompanied by my favourite hipster sidekick, when I say I went here, I should have actually said I was led here.
Anyway it's a smallish pub filled with "cool folk" and I am not cool, so I stood out like a wrinkly old raisin in a bowl full of edamame peas.
The bar had the usual craft beers and assorted nonsense, but they do have a pretty varied choice of tipple, and poisons.
The bar staff were very jovial, engaging and quite knowledgeable about the products. And all in all it was a pleasant evening of drinking and people watching.
There were a couple of epic beards on show that night let me tell you.
Oh, and at one point, a family with three kids turned up, and went downstairs it seemed. I was going to look see what was down there but I wasn't sure if it that really happened or it was the drink.
So I went home.
Good times.

Nice old pub with live music venue on second floor. Local beer is bloody awful, but they have a really nice selection of many other.

Great venue, if not for the limited seating/tables at the ground-floor-level pub. That place tends to get overcrowded. Upstairs stage area is lightly better and has ok acoustics. Somewhat loud, however, bring ur ear protection ?

good bar. good music, although i heard nothing from any band outside of southeast England, furthest from London being Supergrass from Oxford. strange. I’ve never been anywhere with a geographical musical preference! ??
