Good value rooms for central London, and it is a great part of London to stay in. It’s a slightly old school hotel with lots of wood paneling and leather sofas in the bar and also though rooms as big as they used to be before the chains took over hotel accommodation in London.

Bed was also very comfy and the staff were excellent and friendly.

I needed to be in this part of town for a meeting but also it’s a lovely area if you are visiting - and so connected on the tube and buses that you can get anywhere else very easily too.

It is central London so you do hear a bit of train noise in the lower ground rooms etc but that was not a problem for me.

The frontage and reception/dining area was absolutely beautiful. The room was nicely designed and decorated but that’s when it all ends! There was nothing superior about the room, it was tiny! If you’re a 6 feet 16 stone man (or woman) you will struggle in the room. There was only one side of the bed I could stand up straight, and the bed was that close to the bathroom the door touched the bed! The wall between the bathroom and bedroom was tha thin you could hear everything happening in there! Please don’t get this room on your first or second date as they won’t be any others, there’s no privacy if you need the “toilet”. Also whilst in the bathroom I had about 1 inch either side of me when I went to use the bathroom! However the shower was large enough for me and was very comfortable to use. If you do book use it has a base as it becomes claustrophobic very quickly.

Very good. I had room 119 Twin room. Small room but no issues. Clean, fantastic location to Camden, Piccadilly and Leicester Sq. Easy to navigate. You can hear the underground trains but it didn't bother me in the night. I would stay again.

I stayed here for a week in January 2026 and for me, it was a great place to stay. Easy walking distance to a variety of tube lines, as well as things like the British Library and British Museum, but in a decidedly less touristy area.

All the staff that I interacted with were very professional and helpful, from the folks at the front desk, to those at breakfast, to the cleaning person.

The room was reasonably sized, as was the washroom. The bed was quite hard - if you don't like a hard mattress, take note - but I adapted after a couple of nights. Water pressure in the shower is good, both with the overhead and hand held showers.

As important, it tends to be quiet in the room. A couple of mornings I'd step out in the hall and hear a baby - but I hadn't heard a thing in the room.

While the breakfast is nothing to write home about, it did have a good variety of items, including eggs, bread, cheeses, fruit, and meat. The coffee wasn't great - but it was drinkable and I could easily get more coffee at one of the various shops around.

I'd stay here again if I came back to London.

Nice location and clean room

This was our last hotel of our holiday and we honestly didn't expect all that much as we'd had only average hotel-experience during our time away. The Gem Fitzrovia surprised us in the end, though. Staff was incredibly friendly and professional. Room was exactly as shown on pictures. Spacious and very clean (and quiet, especially for London)!! Very comfortable bed. Breakfast wasn't too busy and held as a rich buffet. Very good choice (we booked the full english so were able to choose from hot and cold options). The location was in walking distance to where we needed it to be, located on a mostly quiet street.
Only let down: We planned on ordering room service on our last night and were looking forward to the club sandwiches. Sadly it seemed that on that evening there was one (!) function happening in the restaurant and we were told while ordering, that it may take a bit longer for the food to arrive. They couldn't say approx. how much longer. We gave up after nearly 2hrs and 2 more phone calls and just cancelled the room service. Went out to the Sainsbury's right opposite. I'd rather have been told that room service was not possible than wasting 2hrs waiting for food.
