Reviews
I was a bit hesitant after reading some reviews, but we didn’t have any uncomfortable interactions with staff. I’m not a very chatty person, and too much interaction makes me anxious, lol, so this was a relief. The tall, polite receptionist greeted us and made check-in quick and easy. We arrived late and tired, so that was especially appreciated.
We stayed for two nights and used Uber to get to Universal Studios, it was about $10. The taxi drop-off point is closer than the general parking lot at the park, which was a nice bonus. We spent half a day at the park, came back to the hotel to rest, and then went back again.
We would definitely recommend this place. Wwould stay here again. Thank you for a pleasant stay!
However, the front desk service leaves much to be desired… We were greeted at night by what seemed to be the night watchman, who had no receptionist skills whatsoever, and had to wait until 11 a.m. the next day to speak with an actual receptionist. The same happened on the following days — if you come too early, it’s Xavier, the funny and friendly gardener, who takes care of things, though it’s clearly not his job. It’s a shame there isn’t a proper reception.
We booked our stay at this place through a booking platform. After a long, exhausting 6-hour drive, we finally arrived. As soon as we entered, an extremely creepy staff member was standing by the front desk, asking us the most bizarre and uncomfortable questions.
A moment later, another staff member came in — wearing sunglasses (indoors?), which was already strange enough — and asked for our passports. He also claimed that we hadn’t paid yet. I politely told him that I was pretty sure we had already paid through our booking platform, but that I’d double-check the payment on my phone to be sure. He walked away while I was checking, and just two minutes later he stormed back in, yelling that I was a liar and that we were not welcome in his hotel.
Without any explanation, he pushed my girlfriend and me out of the building and onto the street — as if we were criminals — even though we had remained calm and polite the entire time. We stood there shaking, completely shocked by what had just happened.
Please, do NOT trust the glowing five-star reviews you see here. I’m convinced they’re written by the staff themselves or by people paid to write them. Stay safe people.
Very reasonable price
