The staff was all amazingly good and the hotel room itself was fine. However, this hotel has installed software which causes the thermostat in the room to sometimes ignore the temperature you set it at in order to save electricity. Even though the thermostat was set to 67 degrees, which should have made us very cold, my wife and I both woke up at 3:00 AM very hot and couldn't go back to sleep. I would estimate the temperature in the room to be around 75 degrees. I kicked the thermostat down to its lowest point (65 degrees) and even then the compressor kept kicking off. This was definitely not an equipment problem. It was clearly software doing exactly what it was intended to do. Although I have read about this software in the Wall Street Journal, I've never had this experience before and very much resent the hotel management executives of this hotel sacrificing our comfort on a $100+ hotel room trying to save much less than $1 of electricity. It tells you what they think about their customers' comfort. The hotel GM Colin Sweetland didn't even return my call when I called him to discuss this issue. In the future, will be avoiding Comfort Inn in general and this hotel in particular.
