We were in the club level room which gave us access to the club lounge and the drinks and snacks throughout the day!
Location brilliant! 10 minutes to walk along the lake. There’s also boats that transport you to citywalk and other resorts
And the icing on the cake where the unlimited express passes that are part of your stay. Would definitely recommend this property
The pool area is huge, with plenty of activities to keep kids entertained. There are boats that take you directly to Universal Studios and CityWalk, and a bus that picks you up right in front of the hotel for the newest park — very convenient!
The food was good, though not outstanding. I’d rate the rooms about 4 stars — clean but small, similar in size and feel to a Holiday Inn. For the price, I expected a bit more, but it’s clear you’re really paying for the location and easy park access.
Just be prepared to spend — everything is convenient, but also very pricey.
Honestly, I only booked this resort since it included Express passes for my party on your day of check-in and check-out so I figured the passes paid for themselves AND I'd be able to stay in an amazing resort. That did work perfectly, we checked in at about 11am and were able to hit the parks immediately with our express passes!
Overall, the resort wasn't bad but I think it's in need of a bit of refurbishment and updating. The room in general was alright but it did not give the luxurious feel that I was expecting for a room priced as such.
While walking to the water taxis (which is a great and convenient way to travel), we did see the lovely pool and wish we had more time in the resort to make use of the amenities! We did see a huge gym as well :)
Food wise, loved that there was a Starbucks in the Tuk Tuk market, we were able to get our caffeine fix right bright and early in the morning. We also had breakfast there one morning and the offerings were pretty varied. The Market also sells snacks, drinks and cold snacks (sandwiches, small cheese and charcuterie boards) throughout the day. Nice!
The hotel is visibly old and not very good. The price of the rooms is not even close to worth the price. Our room smelled a lot of cleaning fluid, which cant be healthy to breathe into your lungs. The door to the room does not insulate sound, so you can hear people all night walking and talking in the hallway outside. The beds are fine. I don't like bathrooms where the washing sink area does not have a door, it feels like a cheap motel. The rooms are not very big. Parking is 38 dollars, also a rip-off.
The hotel is expensive partly because they give you a fast pass for Universal Studios... but it only can be used for the first 2 universal studios theme parks, not valid for the new EPIC park. You will only need a maximum 1 day at the first 2 parks. And when we went in October the first 2 parks didn't even need any fast pass at all, because they are much less popular now than EPIC. If you get an express pass for EPIC then it will cost around 100 dollars more to get a second day of express pass for the first 2 theme parks. It makes much more sense to stay at a better, newer and much cheaper hotel and purchase EPIC plus first 2 theme parks express passes.
The best thing about the hotel was the service. But good service is also available elsewhere.
