Worst hotel ever. Poor customer service. Gave us the worst rooms.

At check-in, we had a total booking of 5 rooms. The man attending to us got confused himself and gave me 4 rooms. When I told him we are still missing a room, he insisted that, that is all we booked -while looking frustrated. I have to open up my booking confirmation, slowly explaining to him and he finally found his document for the last room. Not apologetic for his confusion.

Specifically, Room 244 reek of smoke. We tried to ask for a change of room but they said no other rooms available. Also for room 244 which is located on the 4th floor, requires you to climb a couple of steps before reaching the actual floor hence totally not suitable for anyone with mobility issue or carrying heavy luggage.

Room 441 family room. Sounds nice? Not at all.
This room is located in another block where you have to exit the hotel, take your key to open the door of another block and climb up 4 stories high with steep stairs. No elevator. As a family travelling with young kids, I have to carry 4 luggages up myself. The toilet design is a problem as well, cannot stand straight to shower due to the slanted roof (I am 1.71m). Not forgetting to mention about the poor water pressure.

Next morning at breakfast, staff accused me rudely that we don’t have breakfast included. Note, this is after I already registered earlier with another staff (man)at the breakfast counter. Yet the lady can come up to me and say my rooms are not listed on the list. Until i had to open up my digital booking confirmation and showed her that my booking includes the word “breakfast”. The lady could have come to me nicely and request for a verification, instead, she choose to do this rudely and even after I showed her my booking confirmation, all I got is a “okay” from her -not apologetic at all.

Despite the good location, all of the above totally ruined my European travelling experience. Is this even German standard?

Avoid this hotel at all cost, otherwise, please stay at your own risk.

I rarely leave negative reviews but felt this was needed as we have stayed in 100's of hotels all around the world and this would have to be one of the worst. As other reviews have mentioned it is dirty. 1 flat sheet on bed so when that came off we nearly died with no mattress protector and saw all the huge stains on the mattress. Bed was tiny for 2 people and pushed up against the dirty wall which meant you had to climb over the other person to get out. Our door knob was coming off the door so didn't feel that safe. The location is great but alot of beggars and homeless around the front of hotel.
If we thought it would make any difference by complaining we would have done but we didn't feel overally welcomed when we arrived so what was the point.

Worst hotel experience I’ve had in Europe

This was the worst hotel experience I have had in three years of travelling in Europe. While the location is central and close to major attractions, that was the only positive part of the stay.

We paid €273.85 for one night, and the room was far smaller than the photos suggest. The biggest issue, by far, was the heating. The heater in our room was stuck on maximum, and there was no way to turn it off. When we spoke to reception, we were told there was a problem and that it could not be looked at until the following day. Since we were only staying one night, this was completely unacceptable. The room became unbearably hot, to the point where sleeping was nearly impossible.

Opening the windows was not a solution either, because there was a karaoke venue/nightclub operating directly outside, with loud noise late into the night. One staff member came with what they called a “special tool” to try to fix the heater, but this turned out to be a pair of multigrips used to force the already damaged heating knob closed. It was not an appropriate fix and did not inspire confidence.

There were several other problems as well. The shower door did not open and close properly, so water leaked everywhere during use. There was mould throughout the shower, the drain did not work properly, and the overall cleanliness was very poor, with hair and grime visible on the floor.

The location is really a double-edged sword: it is close to tourist sights, but it is also extremely noisy and full of drunk people outside at night. Combined with the overheating room, it made for an awful night.

This was absolutely the worst €273.85 I have ever spent on accommodation. Charging this price for such poor room quality, cleanliness, and service is completely unacceptable.

I was booking on 24 December everything was OK untill my phone was doing errors and by mistake I press cancel the order, I try to spoke with responable for hotel but in rude mode they don't want to reactivate the reservation and they charge me for canceling really very bad attitude
So sad and disappointed

Für Hotel is simply very used, loud and Besides the rooms nothing has been done. Staff is grumpy, breakfast terrible and at 9am basically empty. The only advantage is the location.
