I am celiac, and I had dinner at this restaurant expecting that the staff would take food allergies and intolerances seriously. Unfortunately, the dessert listed on the menu as gluten-free actually contained gluten. This is completely unacceptable for any restaurant, especially one of this price level. When I raised the issue, the staff did not apologize or take responsibility — instead, they suggested that I “should have known” that this type of dessert normally contains gluten, even though the menu clearly stated otherwise. There was no gesture of goodwill, not even a simple apology or a small discount. This is not just poor service; it’s a serious health risk for anyone with celiac disease or gluten intolerance. I expected professionalism, transparency, and care, and unfortunately, I experienced none of these. I strongly advise anyone with dietary restrictions to be extremely cautious when eating here.

I have stayed at this wonderful hotel at various times over the past year and can most heartily recommend it to those looking for something more personal that a classic business abode. The unique British country hotel atmosphere, furniture and decorations (hence the name) were extremely comforting after prolonged stays in other more sterile hotels. The restaurant is amazing and is quickly becoming a secret place of worship for gourmets in the city. my kids visited me on several occasions (they too loved the place) and the staff were quick to find easy, flexible solutions for all those little aspects that pop up when a family is around as well as treating the children like proper guests (something I seldom experience in Germany). All in all I enjoyed each and every stay here but do realise it's not for everyone. So if you need all the mod, techy cons of a business hotel - this is NOT for you! If you desire something cozy, friendly and personal with a good splash of anglo-saxon charm - then this hotel could be the home for home you're looking for.

This hotel is located near to the underground (5 min by foot) in a quite and traditional area. Each room is different from the others, in a very nice old-style. The rooms are very clean. The service is good. The breakfast was ok, but a bit poor in terms of sweets (croissants were finished, no cake, only fruits, yogourt, chocolate and jam). No elevators are present ib the holtel, quite strange for a 4 stars. The price is very high (215 euro per night during the fair). My room was a single one, but was large like a triple. Very confortable. See the photos.

Quaint Hotel - Service has room for improvement!
It's a quaint hotel with individually designed rooms in a cute neighborhood only steps from the Rhein. I was past of a large group of friends that booked the majority of rooms for one night. While my room was nice, clean and perfectly comfortable, one friend had a room in the annex building and it had not been cleaned thoroughly at all - layer of dust in various places, fingerprints on water glass and faucet. Also, the cleaning crew knocked on her door at 7:30 AM on a Sunday. Not acceptable, in our book. Also, while I understand the challenges of hosting a larger group of friends that may have had some additional demands, the staff was visibly annoyed by it and extremely unfriendly. Considering the business we brought to them in one swoop, I would have expected a more service-oriented attitude from the hotel staff.

Warning: Outrageous Experience at Hotel Ashley's Garden I am absolutely furious about my recent reservation at Hotel Ashley's Garden. This establishment charged my credit card a whopping $6000+ through ***********, and their response, or rather lack thereof, has left me seething with anger. This is nothing short of outright fraud! Be warned, future guests, this hotel's shady billing practices are beyond unacceptable. Stay away unless you want to endure a nightmarish experience that could cost you dearly. ---

The hotel is located in a really quiet residential area just outside the city center. Very helpful and friendly staff. The building obviously isn't new, and upon arrival I was a bit worried - but that wasn't necessary at all! Everything was really clean and cozy. The only downside for me was the lack of air conditioning in the rooms. We had dinner with a group of 10 in the restaurant, and that was also really good. Overall service and customer orientation is top notch. Breakfast is maybe a bit basic, but still very good. If you come by car: plenty of free parking space in front of the hotel.
