Where to stay in Malia

We stayed at this hotel in the penultimate week of the season so had the benefit of great weather at a quieter time. The hotel is located a good 30/45 min walk from the main hustle and bustle of Malia with very little nearby (although a nearby restaurant by the port and Eva Taverna are worth venturing out to, both only 10/15 min walk). We loved the beach which is just at the back of our hotel. No complaints other than there was no evening entertainment but I am guessing it was because we went end of season. Hey we had a great time. My daughter has coeliac disease. So gluten free. The chefs and catering staff did so much fir her. Everyday they made her fresh food. I will come back next year. I miss so much. Cold here.

Amazing 5 star Resort for couples who wants a romantic getaway. We went there in early November and had a nice experience with the Spa and Wellness Team: Wendy, Christina and Tina. We enjoyed 90 minutes Cretean massage and facials. Highly recommend to spend some extra bucks to get nice and relaxing time.

Overall a great stay. The room was a bit small, no coffee service in the room. Booked the Superior Bungalow Sea View - we were pretty far back from the ocean. There were bungalows right along the beach area so not sure what the difference was. Otherwise the stay was great - excellent breakfast, staff was top notch.

On the end of August, beginning of September we stayed at the High Beach White wing of this resort, which is for adults only, in Malia. This resort is managed perfectly with a very friendly staff that have the goal to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We had a good stay! However, you have to pay for the sun loungers at the pool. The staff is very, very friendly, except for the head waiter. Unfortunately, one waiter (George) is quite unfriendly and does not treat the guests well. The hotel is very clean, and the food is good.

The hotel is great. The furnishings are modern and very clean. There are loungers available for each room on the beach. The two restaurants are well run and the food is delicious and varied. Sometimes the beach bar right next door is a bit annoying. But no problem. The staff is super friendly.

Lovely hotel to stay at. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and it is not so crowed like the those bigger resort/hotels. The staff were very friendly and the service was always done with a smile. It is located a street back from the beach which adds to the intimacy of the place. If you like the quiet and chill out feeling when on holidays, then this is a hotel to consider on the top of your list.

When ever this place was advertised I gave it a miss as I thought it was on the ***** and not for me. Talking to some friends, no it's in the old and it's OK. We found the Happy Days to be in an ideal spot for the old village, and not far from the main ***** .The staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms were cleaned regularly, and bedding and towels were changed at least 4 times a week .We used the bus to get around the island,which was cheap and easy. Unfortunately tonight we raised the fact that the chicken kebabs were not cooked properly and still pink inside. Disappointing that the tray wasn’t removed from the buffet to be cooked properly, we only received a sorry apology after an example was shown to the chef.

Great location, nice beach. The hotel is good but not great. The food in the restaurant is very low quality, the breakfast was always the same, the coffee machine is so slow. I've seen turtles moved faster that the waiter in the restaurant, one day we ask for beers and we were almost in the desert when the beers arrived. The room was clean and spacious.

It was my first time in Greece . And what a nice experience it was. The location of the hotel is ideal , with 2 private pools and steps away from the beach and Sea. Amazing food and great personnel. ( Tina & Maria & Cristina & Irina).🥰Highly recommend A+++

Absolutely loved this hotel, room was basic, but clean, only paid 35 euros to stay a whole extra day as our flight wasn't untill 2am the next day. All the staff were happy, friendly. Will definitely come back

Lovely solo holiday. Would recommend to any solo traveller. I have stayed there before with my late husband and children however children grown up , husband passed away.
