Great, will stay another time! Great stay, breakfast was included, beach near by, friendly and approachable staff, all speak english and very well organised. The only downside was people swimming in the swimming pool without a shower prior, so pool can be dirty depending on a day.

Staff and management were amazing. We left kids clothing behind and Maria took it upon herself to have it shipped to us at our next travel destination. My wife and I came for a cocktail by the pool of Istoria, and ended up staying the afternoon drinking and conversing with Stelios, the great bartender of Istoria. My wife and I shared three incredible days at the Istoria Hotel on Santorini in September 2025. There is a lot of hype about Oia and Fira but you can take a car/taxi to visit those places which we found to be very touristy and crowded. The hotel is located on the top of a hill near the small town of Oia. It has a sense of being a city-state at a high altitude (especially after visiting the Acropolis in Athens). It was here that I saw the most touching sunset.

Disappointed that we weren't aware this hotel was located at the top of a mountain up a very steep slope and out of town. Beware if you have any medical conditions because its so steep up to the hotel. plus the taxis are very expensive. The staff were lovely but our room was very dark. We felt a bit isolated here.

The hotel has a very beautiful view. We were automatically upgraded to a room and were very satisfied. The view and comfort are our top priorities. We liked that it was a family business and they were very helpful to our special needs. The chef was amazing and provided many different dishes. The owner was extremely kind and joyful. Nice beach with long walking trail. You can also ride around on an ATV here, or sit under an umbrella and take in the ocean with a nice beverage. Decent selection of restaurants as well as bars. Bus is very much not on schedule, so be prepared for long waits.

Stayed here for 3 nights in October — room was big, clean, and the sunset view was amazing! Lots of good restaurants around, and Fira is only a 10-min walk. If you’ve got big luggage, better get a porter.

They welcomed us with drinks, and the manager at the reception was very accommodating. She explained everything about the island, offered us tours to the caldera, and even gave tips on places to visit by car along with other attractions around the island. Understand that this hotel has an awesome view to the east sea, not towards Caldera. Also, its in an island area where you can walk to nothing. Its not near the main areas of the island with bars, restaurants, etc. If you understand this, its fine. Also, many rooms have a loft bed meaning a staircase up so to use the restroom its down and then back up.

Best Choice, had the best Place to stay, perfect with sunrise View, near to beach , private pool and parking and good staff and on top on that planes flying over your head.
