Another visit the Palmyra did not disappoint, a well run hotel with spacious rooms with waterfall showers in the bathroom. Complimentary toiletries are nice bonus . Been to this hotel twice this month because we loved it so much. The room, the staff, the food! Will definitely be back again next year. We have visited many Greek islands but Zakynthos is one of the best! Diana Hotel is a great hotel with even greater people! Mornings were something we looked forward to! Came to the Varres as at the end of our holiday my wife was admitted to hospital on the day we should have flown home. Moved to Varres Hotel as it is close if not the closest to the hospital. All the staff were brilliant and their shuttle service spot on , can’t fault the hotel or staff, and when we are back in Zakynthos will head for the Varres rather then a beach all inclusive hotel .

Excellent place! If you are in Zante for a quiet and peaceful vacation - Varres is a great place for that. Rooms are cosy, the pool is ultra clean and the staff is just perfect. 30 minutes to the port by foot, or 7-8 mins with a car. Shuttles were available for anywhere on the island. I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in August, and it was exactly what we expected: a decent hotel with a gorgeous view. The rooms were very nice, the bathroom was well equipped, cleaning was done daily, and if you wanted the sheets or towels changed, you just had to ask. The hotel in total is not bad, BUT if you like uphill walking then is no problem, you need to pay extra 7 Euro a day for the airco above your reservation, service & breakfast was good, close to the beach. But I don't really find the rooms that clean (I guess they clean the floor without detergent), the wc and the bathroom were never cleaned our entire stay only the towels were changed as we put them...

I stayed here for a week and I enjoyed it. It's not loud outside because it is a bit from the city but I have 2 complaints. Had a pleasant stay here recently. On the negative side, the bathrooms are tiny and the bar plays loud music (with occasional swearing) until around midnight, which is enough to keep kids awake if your room is close (ours was).
