Best Hotels in Iceland

Our room had a large desk, a comfy armchair, a beautiful bathroom, and a king-size bed. The heated timber floors were a nice touch. This hotel is designed for comfort, and I felt right at home as soon as I arrived

A lovely welcome from the team started our stay well. The room was really clean, cared for and well designed

Location great service good room was very crowded no closet or hooks for clothes or space for suitcase

The breakfast room had plenty of space and choice and the bar was so lovely, with a great choice of drinks and really beautifully decorated. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Beautiful hotel but not good rooms Pros: The propriety is beautiful. Common areas are very well decorated. Cons: Room very stuffy and warm (no AC). Noisy construction in front of the building and so is the road

It was a very nice hotel and hotel room. The breakfast was extremely good! The only downfall was there was a lot of construction going on within the hotel and on the street of the hotel.

The room was relatively clean, the location was convenient, it was close to the airport, and taxis were easy to get. The app also had some improvements

Staff was exceptionally helpful when our converter shorted the electricity in our room. Place has a nice vibe. Must be safe in the area since key was left on counter. Couple of nice bars nearby.

We stayed here for one night before our flight. Had a bunch of planning issues and special requests.. and every single thing was solved by the wonderful girls at the front desk! An exceptional experience, thanks!

Quiet & clean hotel. You check yourself in if late. Ignore the negative reviews. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. I would stay here again!

Made last booked one week before arrival the cost much higher but in general all things good, if you are not late arrival jn earlier morning could stay in town.

I have stayed at the hotel twice, went a couple of times to the restaurant and now I went to the new baths and dinner. Everything was so good, food excellent, service excellent and the baths so cozy

The food at the hotel's restaurant is excellent. It was a new gastronomic experience, especially in a wonderful way. High protein with an exquisite taste

Very clean Hotel room with a mini fridge and a smart TV. The staff was really friendly and helpfull. We loved the breakfast and the dinner. The hotel is located at a farm and you can see a few animals! We loved that! 😊

My husband and I did a 1 hour tour here and had a great time as this was our first time ever riding a horse! The ride was very easy and the horses were super gentle

Spent a night here on our Ring Road trip around Iceland. Lovely family run farm that has a guest house for travelers as well as Icelandic horse riding tours

We did not have enough time to do a horse riding but they did let me photograph their beautiful horses, who were just as curious about me as I was them. Thank you for a wonderful memory

It was a nice change from staying at hotels and the first time we really got to have some conversations with the knowledgable people who actually live here

The property also has baby lambs, Arctic fox pup, chickens, and bunnies. Additionally it was no problem to take pictures of the other horses in the pasture after our ride

Part of visiting a country is also getting to know the people… but it is easy to be distracted by the amazing geography Iceland has

But that was an amazing experience. They staff was extremely friendly. The toilets were clean and the food was good

They had a little mix up with one order but they were so sorry about it and gave us something for free as a sorry. I am extremely pleased with my stay here and can recommend it to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cafe had some really good muffins. The vestihorn Mountain View tickets were included in the camping cost

However Hofn the town is only 20 mins away in the car with a good selection of places to eat

Super clean bathrooms and showers. There was also a small outdoor kitchen. Since it’s winter the stoves were taken out but it was still an area I could use my over camper stove to cook in

The lighthouse and seals seemed like a long walk and were a bit confusing since it was blocked off by a nato station but it was a great stay regardless

They are THE BEST! A wonderful little boutique place that is only blocks from downtown, surrounded by local residents, and a super nice and helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again!

After a mess at the international airport which involved a power outage, freak storm, and hours upon hours of lines, culminating in false hotel vouchers from the airline (because the original hotels never received the voucher bookings because there was no power), we made our way to Hotel Hilda and they accepted us in quickly and we're understanding of our situation

This hotel literally saved me a few others from a long day of exhaustion. They welcomed us in and we're so very nice and comforting

We were very happy with this accomodation! The day we left, we had to leave at 3 a. and were therefore to early to get breakfast

Knowing this, the very nice and helpful lady of the hotel made us some sandwiches, which were waiting for us on the counter

My only complaint is that they put us to the dining room/Breakfast room and it was VERY noisy in the morning when we were trying to sleep. Beyond that it was very nice and the staff were very accommodating

Best stay of iceland for us, it is in a remote area but is equipped with all the necessities. There is a kitchen with an oven and induction stove on which you can prepare your food

Around 3 hours away from Glacier Lagoon (but since roads are good you will not feel exhaustions)

You are surrounded by more sheep, horses and cattle than people. You do not need to travel anywhere to see the northern lights, just open the front door

Excellent space, just what we needed while touring the south coast and the Westman islands. Great location. Great apartment, very new, clean, and comfy.

I did not cook a full meal but instead bought some prepared meals and heated it in the microwave. There’s also a small fridge to store items. And if the sky is clear you have a great view of EYJAFJALLAJÖKULL glacier

Easy for us to move around being a couple. The blanket could be smoother like in hotels, instead of feeling corrugated, as a suggestion. Overall, it’s a real fine place to stay with cooking facilities

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Phoenix Hotel. The rooms were spacious and very clean, the beds were really comfortable. We had a small kettle to make tea and coffee which was good

Every night the beds were turned down and a chocolate placed in the pillows which was a really nice touch. The 2 managers were lovely, they couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly

By far the best hotel I have staid in here in Reykjavik. I very often have to go to Reykjavik from my home in Akureyri on business and a friend told me about this gem. I have found my new home in the capital

We stayed for five nights and will definitely stay here again when we come back to Iceland. Breakfast was very good, the room spotless and the bed one of the best we have had in a hotel room

The hotel is located very centrally in Reykjavik allowing you to reach every location on foot. The rooms are very clean and the service is excellent

The two gentlemen running it are very welcoming and gave us good tips on what to see in Reykjavik and around the city

Stayed for one night back in September 2022, loved it ! Very comfortable room, a nice little breakfast, a souvenir of a horse shoe, an amazingly friendly dog, beautiful views and gorgeous horses

The rooms are lovely, really comfortable and cozy! Surroundings are amazing. Also, the owner is very kind. We spent a lot of time talking about horses with him. One of the best places in Iceland 😍

The place where the farm is located is very beautiful. The rooms are incredibly cozy and nice. One of the best places in Iceland to stay!

Side note: the lovely lady boss actually picked 2 stranded tourists whose car had broken down on the road somewhere and put them in the workers room while they waited for their replacement car

Wonderful cottage style stay in a midst of grassland. Really love the cottage feel of the place. The owner was very friendly and she was there outside the room waiting for us when we arrived

The hotel lady was really friendly and two dogs greeted the guests. The room condition was really good and cozy

The location of this cottage is absolutely impressive. It's all new and fully equipped. We had a great experience. It s much better than its shown in the pics. I do recommend it !

Perfect little cabin to spend a night or two when traveling around the southern region. Clean, cozy and SO QUIET. couldn't recommend enough - the view was incredible!

We loved our time here and we were a little sad to leave to go on other adventures! This is the perfect place to sit and read a book and watch the world go by

Here you will have a good chance for the Aurora due to very low light pollution and clear night sky - also amazing for watching the stars

The small huts are perfectly equipped and very, very clean. Here special emphasis is placed on details - this is also noticeable in the very well-tended horse farm. We have rarely had such great accommodation!

Very nice hotel! It was clean, quiet, and the rooms had their own bathrooms! Complimentary breakfast was very good, thanks to having pancakes available! Located off the beaten path, but still close to city emmenities.

It is true, there is no elevator so you will have to carry your luggage up two flights of stairs. There is a nice common room with microwave, stoves and fridge. The breakfast was a sack lunch type deal, and it was good

Good breakfast with lovely view Cons: The hotel is located in the second floor with no elevator, so carrying a big bag can be quite an issue. TV signal is very weak to not exists

Very good hotel few minutes drive from the airport. Pros: Very clean and comfortable, close to the airport minus the noise

my sheets were wrinkly and spotty so i didn't know if they were fresh or not 🤷🏻‍♀️ but for one night or better a couple of hours before flying out from Kef airport it was good enough. You get a hairdryer asking reception

While the surrounding area is not overly attractive, for the price and location to the airport (plus really nice rooms and staff) we would recommend it and will definitely stay here again

In the end, they upgraded my room type. The experience was pretty good

 The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Reykjavik.  It is within walking distance  to shops and restaurants.  The transportation service to airport was added benefit.  I highly recommend this hotel 

The breakfast was very good, especially the fresh baked bread delivered to your door every morning! About the only negative was finding parking near the unit we were staying in

The kitchen came stocked with dishes and silverware which we put to good use, especially in the morning for breakfast, since we’d pick up items like fruit, yogurt and bread from the store

Coffee was complimentary via the Nespresso machine on the counter and they also had cornflakes, orange juice and milk already stocked. The location of our building was very central as well

The setup is quite unique too, as the hotel is divided among several different buildings (we were in “Printing Press”) and the reception area also stands independently in its own building

We stayed at the Diamond Suites for 3 nights, and it was the best. Breakfast is abundant, rooms are super clean and stylish, the staff is very kind and helpful

The hotel is conveniently located fairly close to the airport (8-minute drive) and only 10 minutes from the Blue Lagoon. Our family had an excellent time

We checked in on a Sunday and were super pleased with our room. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Hotel KEF is on of the best hotels we have stayed at

this is the perfect place to stay near the Keflavik airport. it has the best restaurant in town as well.

Excellent location and is a few minutes walk from the rainbow street. Have its own parking area so perfect for those that start/end the trip with rental car

An okay stay. Pretty stuffy during winter. Too cold outside, quite warm and stuffy inside, no ventilation such as fans. Location is good.

I previously stayed in their two-bedroom unit, and overall it was a great experience. Both the living room and bedrooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The location is also excellent

Very basic, no coffee and the shower doors were weird. Floors guaranteed to get wet. But is a good location to shops and restaurants

Good place to stay for one night, not far from the buss station to use flybus. I had a Window view to Hallgrimskirkja. Location is excellent.

Convenient location with free parking. It's a short walk to the city center and great for chasing the Northern Lights by the sea. Breakfast was just okay. The hygiene was good.

Great location, very clean hotel, and you can even see the cathedral from your room. It's within walking distance to Rainbow Street, the Phallus Museum, the Concert Hall, and Little Elephant Supermarket

However, rooms facing the church also face the cemetery behind it. Of course, this is quite common abroad. Just tell yourself it's good for promotion and wealth. The hot spring water has a sulfur smell

There are no toiletries provided at all, which was a real letdown. But Rainbow Street is just two blocks away, so the location is really good

The well-equipped kitchen is the best one we ever encountered, the strong shower water pressure is like a heaven, specially after a long cold day out. We highly recommend it and love to go back for next trip

The hot spring hotel is nice and the location is great for seeing the northern lights. It’s a peaceful place to stay. However, the oven is not clean and should be cleaned.

The only slight improvement I would suggest would be a little more lighting or stronger lighting as the walls are dark and we had to sometimes raise the window shades to see well

This was the best property we stayed at Durham our 3 week trip around Iceland. Words cannot describe this accommodation- it is gorgeous. Under flooring heating, fully equipped kitchen, such a huge space

The cabin was cozy, and the kitchen was fully stocked with seasonings. There was a shared washer-dryer, but no oven. The hotel had a soaking tub, but the water didn't seem warm enough, so we didn't try it

We took a food tour that met at the concert hall which was about a 15 minute walk. The famous church is maybe a 5 minute walk. If you stay here you will utilize bus stop 9 for all of your tour pick ups/drop offs

Having your own mini kitchen and fridge really helps too allowing you to take home leftovers or buy something from the grocery store to cook one night to avoid paying the pricey cost of dining out in Iceland

The owners were incredibly responsive and helpful whenever we needed any assistance or had questions while we were in town. If we ever make it back to Iceland we will definitely stay here again

Very thoughtfully designed studio style apartment with helpful touches fit cleverly into a small space like quality kitchen tools, a closet, a tea kettle, soap for the laundry room downstairs

There is no room service but there are at least 6 restaurants within a 1 block radius of a very safe area. There is also a central meeting area on the 9th floor with soda, alcohol, milk, coffee, light snacks, etc

Suite is huge and the king bed was extremely comfortable with fine linens. Bathroom is very modern with separate shower from toilet. Shower was also roomy and water pressure was exceptional

We had a wonderful stay at Tower our first night in Reykjavik! Room and amenities first class, beautiful view of the city, and of course greeted in the morning with a trolley of delicious breakfast food

personally i love this apartment style instead of hotel. more private n self served. the view is stunning. location is convenient. staff is helpful. to me I love it.

The room was very spacious, with a walk-in closet and a large bathroom including a bathtub. One of the highlights was being able to enjoy the city lights — and even the Northern Lights — while taking a bath

This is not your traditional hotel as it sits on the 9th floor (top) of an office building. To check-in, you receive emailed instructions and once on the top floor, you're met by hotel staff

Pretty nice. Good coffee machine and good shower. Rooms are a little small though. Also watch out for the corner of the bed. If you hit your shin on it your leg hurts a lot.

Evrything was good except that apartment had a strong fishy smell that just wouldnt air out in the 3 days we stayed there.

It's OK The room was large and nice accoring to the decription. There was actually everything available what you need. The location (in case you have a car) and environment is great (parking, gym, foodstire etc

It had all the amenity needed as my home would have, cook top, refrigerator, nice closet for storage, comfy sofa, shared washing machine and dryer in all floors

Regarding the balcony I probably draw the short straw at the 2nd floor as you can see in the pictures (Superior Appartment). But all in all it's OK and I would probably stay there again
