We were told that the hotel philosophy was: "why should we make the room decor pretty when we can make it ugly?"
In that respect, they have been very successful.
Hotel Cristallo wins my vote for the "ugliest hotel rooms in Italy" category.

What can I say? A fabulous find. Service, location, price, all fantastic. The receptionists are lovely and very helpful, the charming house keeper greeted us every morning and tidied our room whilst at breakfast and the breakfast staff too, are brilliant, friendly and professional. All staff speak great English. Some may think its a bit dated, but if you have large spacious rooms, superb customer service and breathtaking location, what else do you need?
Ps the local bus stops outside the hotel taking you to Tellaro if you don't fancy the 10 minute walk (which is worth doing) or to Lerici for bars and more restaurants

an amazingly nice and simple hotel. Our room was just right, clean, tidy and really good water pressure in the shower . We had a terrace with a view of the ocean. The staff here are super nice and remember your name straight away. The breakfast has lots to choose from as well. A lot or hotels could learn from the standard of service this hotel has set, just by them being thoroughly nice to everyone. I would come and stay here again just because of the simplicity and honesty and good service we found here. Thanks for a wonderful stay

Very clean hotel friendly and helpful staff comfortable room good breakfast ample parking good location a few minutes walk from the historic center and 10 minutes by shuttle from Lerici. Fair price considering those in the area. Advised.

Rudeness and incompetence is all that the staff exhibit. After booking, and having received confirmation of the possibility of 1 night, I am advised the following day that it cannot be accepted as the minimum is 2 nights. After a day of exchanging information, advice, etc.. zero professionalism, zero competence. A word in particular on the social media manager, Simone, who takes the liberty of offending customers when bad behavior is pointed out to him, revealing a very low level of business and total unpreparedness for customer management. Turn away

Nice hotel with good staff in great location. Couldn't get any sleep as there is a house just up the hill where the dog barks every day and night all day. I asked a member of staff and they said it is the hotel owners dog! Kept us awake every night. Hotel staff said that the hotel owner doesn't care about his dog and that's why it barks all night.

Room was very clean and the promised room with Oceanview and large double bed were reserved.
Staff was very friendly until I got to eat breakfast....one staff woman serving breakfast was very rude and was not interested to even understand or try the English language. Italians got their breakfast served to the table where everyone else had to carry it by themselves to the table. A sign at the buffet would have been nice too to let guests know that fried eggs and omelet were available.
Too bad, would have come back to this place but breakfast with staff member Sara definitely made me feel not welcome.

I stayed 7 nights in a modest room with a very nice sized bed (might be a ‘queen’ sized bed in Australian standards). Anyway, very friendly staff, super close to a free public beach with beautiful sand and water, and a lovely breakfast every morning. My bedding and towels were changed every day and all felt very clean. The roof top is also a hidden gem, with shade and seats/tables - so you can sit there and read with amazing sea views. A short bus ride from Lerici and Tellaro is just down the road with plenty of restaurants (remember to buy your bus ticket from the local tabaccheria or the front desk as they don’t take cash on the bus). Perhaps my small issue is I could often hear my neighbours in the room next door (and they could probably hear me!). Nothing to be done about that though and I still very much enjoyed my stay. Thank you again! I hope to be back.

I am supriced by some of the low gradings of this hotel. I had really low expectations because of that and the low price so I was very happily supriced to find a really nice hotel, with very serviceminded and professional staff as well as the best breakfast I've ever had in Italy. Would 100% recommend.

Nice hotel with sea view. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms, very nice breakfast buffet. Unfortunately roof top terrace was closed during my stay and the restaurant is not operated currently. But there are possibilities around.

Be careful with this hotel when you book for example with booking.com as the Hotel will charge you the entire amount. There is another hotel at Lake Garda with the same name of the hotel or very similar (called Relais Rosa dei Venti) and since our friends stayed there at Garda we accidently booked that place. They did not wave any fees and we had to pay the full amount as we were over the time given to cancel - though this was quite long. I would therefore warn you to go to this place as the Hotel is not flexible at all. This is in line with some other people who only gave this hotel a 1 star rating and were very disappointed!!! Best!
