The hotel was in desperate need of a full clean, carpets leading to reception and dining room hadn't been swept for weeks, cigarette ends laying about. My room had mould on the bathroom ceiling and lots of ceiling mess on the floor, the room also smelt really bad because of it. The evening meal left a lot to be desired, always like warm on cold plates there only saving grace was the staff

Stayed here as part of a Shearings holiday . Rooms need updating , architrave coming away from wall , no plug in sink , toilet constantly dripping . Food awful , stayed 6 nights served potato wedges 6 nights , food nearly always cold . When I complained to Shearings they seem oblivious to the issues even though their customers have been complaining about this hotel for years . The food we were served for breakfast was nothing like the stock breakfast photo on the hotel website . Avoid like the plague .

Beautiful hotel and excellent staff. The receptionist Fady was super helpful and friendly. We enjoyed out stay and would definitely come back.

Don't waste your money.the only good thing was the friendly staff, it's very poorly ran.no food as the Germans piled their plates up, no tea bags, no toaster.only white rolls.always the same. Evening meals were rubbish, soup so thick you can stand your spoon up in it.very little soggy veg.fish that was tasteless. Pudding always panacotte. No variety what so ever Bar never manned.very dirty, cutlery and glasses.chipped plates.the glass around the place has never seen a cloth. Floors filthy. Lift kept breaking down. We did get clean towels every day though which was a bonus.but only one toilet roll!! Loved the outings we went on with shearings, that made the holiday. Wouldn't go back.

Most of the food was OK but some meals were awful. Half a dozen potato wedges with nearly every meal was ridiculous. The rooms are dated but ok. Our shower was just a trickle but we made do. The pool was filthy so we didn't use it. Most staff were friendly but one older bald man was rude and kept hawking up and spitting. It was disgusting. Would definitely not return to this hotel. It's pitiful. I would go to Alassio again it's a lovely place.

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had
I put the hotel name in my SatNav, it took me to a blocked street. I got out, walked around, eventually finding the hotel. At the hotel, check-in was poor, I got my car, came back and was met by somebody who, well, did nothing. I joined a long queue of elderly folk settling their accounts, and once at the front, the guy who did nothing then seeks to check me in - after I have waited....
The room had AC, but could only go as low as 19C, so it took a long time to cool, the room was hot & sticky. So sticky I took my shirt off and sat on the bed with my laptop on my knee to work. I could not get the WiFi to work, so had to hotspot via my cellphone. During this time, my naked back was against the bed's headboard which had a foam/plastic covering. When I moved, this stuck to me, peeling off the headboard, I had to scrape it off my back! When I checked out I spoke of these things to the reception.....they laughed at me.

I don’t know why Shearings use this hotel. During our short stay we had no hot water for two days. Our room was not serviced for another two days. Breakfasts were at best basic with tinned fruit . Dinner chaotic, my wife and I did not eat at the same time as they did not serve one table at a time. Basic hotel poorly managed,

Went on a shearings holiday. Room cleaned every day. Clean towels every day. Only negative is the amount of time travelling. Overall the hotel was nice, staff very friendly, the one grumpy bar man apologised as he was in pain from sciatica. Food is a personal choice, but salad bar every night good, pasta choice excellent, pork choice not to good. Salmon and chicken lovely. Wine on table every night. Plenty of choice in free bar , 6 till 10. Town has plenty of food and drink choice, plus lovely shopping. Overall had a lovely week. Negatives, hairdryer useless, front steps to dining area need a good clean. Balcony no table. Otherwise everything OK.

My expectations were low due to previous reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good the staff were great and the room clean and well presented. Loved having clean towels every day. I stayed there early May, and there was a frog chorus every night, which I actually liked. Would definitely stay again. Short walk to the beach and shopping.

My wife and I went on a shearings trip here. Room was immaculate, food amazing, and staff very polite and helpful. Enjoyed sitting by the pool every night, listening to the frogs, with new found friends. Feddy ( I think that's how it was spelled) was so entertaining behind the bar. We would definitely go back.
