Maya Beach Resort in Massa Lubrense

The beach club is stunning but there are issues!
The location of this place is unmatchable. We will be back despite some issues with our stay because it's simply stunning. The beach club staff was excellent, Emmanuelle was on top of our orders and always close by to get us drinks and food.

My complaint is about the hotel and house keeping staff and some issues we had here:

1) We had a real metal key because they could not get their digital keys to work. Kind of a pain to carry around, and then we only had 1, which is hard when you have two people staying in the same room.

2) the first day our shower flooded the whole room! We came to find out that they were doing maintenance on their sewer tank but nobody warned us not to shower or that it would back up into the room.

3) They hold raves on Saturday and Sunday night. The beach club is filled with hundreds of people and the thumping music goes until 2 am. If you were hoping to go to bed early, that's not going to happen over the weekend.

4) We will be renting a car next time we come. The shuttle is not dependable, and you're trapped at the resort without them. The taxis know this and rip you off so badly. We probably spent $1300 euros in taxis just to get around.

5) The housekeeping staff removed a personal item from our room that nobody seemed to know where to find on the morning of our departure. When they finally found, they expected me to pay for shipping even though I did not leave it behind on purpose. The hotel ignore my messages on What'sApp about it

The service is average, some employees are ******, and there is obvious discrimination against Asians. I say this to save my dignity.
Breakfast basically only has cold cuts and no basic eggs.
The scenery is unique in the surrounding area, and there is also a nightclub mode on weekends.

Let me add a Chinese comment. The hotel facilities are very good, and the scenery is also very beautiful. It is in a small valley alone. The road from the mountain is very winding and winding. Our car is too long. Every turn requires a kick. However, this hotel is not as well managed as European chain hotels. It feels like a bunch of grassroots people are cheating. When paying the city tax, it was 10 euros per room per night. We thought it was outrageous, so we asked for a receipt and were told that it was 10 euros for two rooms in total. In the end, we were not given a receipt. The dinner restaurant and club are filled with a combination of European men and Eastern European/black women. It feels like an internet celebrity hotel. Not very recommended, and there is no elevator, so you need a tip to carry your luggage. The service staff are generally indifferent, so there is no need to give them a good look.
