We’ve stayed at beautiful hotels around the world, but the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria in Sorrento is truly in a class of its own. From the moment you walk through the gates, the property feels like a private, elegant estate perched above the sea — lush gardens, citrus trees, manicured pathways, and a timeless sense of charm. Our room overlooked the Bay of Naples, and waking up to those views was unforgettable. The pool area is equally stunning — peaceful, spacious, and surrounded by greenery, with service that’s attentive without ever feeling intrusive. The breakfast buffet was another highlight. Fresh pastries, fruit, Italian specialties, and made-to-order options, all enjoyed on a terrace with sweeping views… the perfect start to each day. Evenings at the hotel feel like a scene from a classic Italian film. There’s live music drifting through the gardens, guests settling in with an aperitivo, and a warm, elegant energy that makes you want to linger. And the sunsets — especially from the rooftop — are something we’ll never forget. Watching the sky fade into soft pinks over the marina with a glass of wine in hand was truly magical. If you’re visiting Sorrento and want an experience that’s luxurious, romantic, and authentically Italian, this is the place. We can’t wait to return.

I am rarely able to relax on vacations but the service at this hotel is so superior that it allows me to check out, not think and relax. Their staff thinks of everything so I can relax and be in the moment with my family and friends. It was here that I was able to perfect the art of sitting at a table and enjoying a meal for 3 hours - a very foreign concept for this American who works 120 hours a week and eats every meal at a desk. The food is outstanding and every morning we got to experience the most incredible breakfast buffet under the most magnificent hand painted ceiling. The owners do a great job continually improving the property, every detail is thought of. You can feel the warmth from the moment you arrive and I promise you will never want to leave this gorgeous property because the staff will make you feel like you are at home.

We highly recommend this magical and grand hotel to anyone visiting Sorrento. The staff were professional, courteous, friendly and attentive. They catered to our every need and made sure that we were comfortable and happy at all times. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful garden suite with a private terrace and other extra amenities. It felt like our own special paradise! The food and drinks were decadent, refreshing and full of creativity. Our dinner at La’ Orangerie, by the pool, was outstanding! Each serving was fresh, full of flavor and creative. The Grand Hotel Excelsior Victoria is centrally located in the main square of Sorrento, giving you easy access to the port, the ferries, the shopping and the restaurants. Thank you for making this one of the most memorable vacations of a lifetime!

Just simply amazing! Highly recommend. The history, the views, the room, and the staff are just perfection, really no words other than you have to go! You truly step back into time. We need more of this in our world. Perfect location to everything in Sorrento.

Service was fantastic. Corrado the concierge made everything happen seamlessly. The terrace for evening cocktails had an exceptional view of Naples Bay. Rooms were very clean and roomy. Air conditioning worked great! Breakfast had a fantastic buffet including omelettes made to order and many types of coffee. Will come back to vacation here again soon.

This was the beginning to our Italy travels and we were warmly welcomed. Everything about this Grand Hotel was 5 stars. It is in the town center, surrounded by shopping and restaurants is what we liked the most. They have an elevator that provides easy access to the port below, so no crazy stairs to climb up and down. Ferry services to other locations were easy. I wouldn't go anyplace else if I return in the future.

A breathtaking location with gorgeous accommodations. The beauty and history of the property can be felt in every part of the experience, from the picturesque entrance and driveway, to the dreamy lobby, commanding terrace and captivating stairways. We felt a warm welcome from the incredibly accommodating staff, from check-in to check out. The location is unbeatable for both the view and the walkability. Our room was gorgeous as were the private balconies—where we ultimately got engaged!

We can’t wait to visit again and highly recommend this property.

Our Golden Wedding celebration has been enhanced by this lovely hotel. All the staff have friendly, attentive and caring. We were upgraded to a suite overlooking the harbour. We ate in the Michelin star restaurant and had wonderful taste’s dancing on our palate
