We were only able to stay two nights, but would have enjoyed staying more. The property is in a wonderful location just off the town Square and the staff are fantastic. They have an excellent breakfast on site and a beautiful pool and surrounding patio with a small spa and a nice gym downstairs. Well worth your consideration if you find yourself traveling to the beautiful town of Sorrento Italy.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Ara Maris, staff friendly and extremely helpful. Hotel positioned in the centre of Sorrento but provided a quiet calm space away from the many tourists in town.

The hotel was very nice, but there were some issues. There was some exceptional staff members that went above and beyond; Angelo in the dining room and Carmen and Joseph at reception. Some of the other staff members at the reception were very hard to deal with. The hair dryer in the room kept shorting out and the air conditioning didn't work so well. Nice hotel in a walking distance from Pompeii. Stayed in a suite with balcony and the room couldn’t be better. But the breakfast included in a price was really bad. Tried to order from menu one day and paid €6 for two overcooked fried eggs, €8 for a few tiny pancakes. In Ireland we have a full Irish breakfast for that price.

This wonderful hotel is located in the centre of Pompeii, just a few minutes from the historical site of ancient town. It is a very nicely renovated building with helpful staff and fantastic view from the rooftop bar to Vesuvius and the surrounding mountains. The bar and restaurant staff are exceptionally helpful, I can only recommend this hotel.

Very good location, 10 minutes walk from the back door of Pompeii. The hotel is beautiful and clean, the front desk is friendly, and they booked a good driver for us to go to Amalfi coast the next day.

The facilities are new and complete, and the bathroom has plenty of hot water. The front desk service is professional, the rooms are well soundproofed, and I slept well. Highly recommended! It's a great hotel closest to the stadium, and it even offers a free sauna – truly excellent!

The front desk staff was very enthusiastic. When I checked out, I didn't want to wait for the elevator and carried my suitcase downstairs. The cleaning staff came to help immediately. The hotel is very close to the Maradona Stadium. It happened to be Napoli's home game against Genoa, and the streets were full of fans 😂

The property is quite spectacular, though the neighborhood is somewhat rough (garbage, traffic, laundry, etc…) There was no hot water in the shower, and the hot tub was out of service. Dining on the property was a fantastic experience. The staff were of average friendliness — nothing remarkable, but not bad either.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and very accommodating. We loved the variety of restaurant options and the view at breakfast looking over the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius was stunning! We found it easy to get into Sorrento via train (a 10 minute walk, followed by a 10 minute journey) and we would not hesitate to come again. A true 5 star experience!

What a beautiful island resort! We were there September 2025 and the weather and environment was fantastic! The room was spacious and offered a breathtaking ocean view! They also have a sundeck platform that extends into the ocean. You will climb down around 97 steps to reach it! The in house safe wasn't programmed but we worked around this. We were there in May, there was a lack of good weather, so we did not use the private beach, which was well-maintained and waiting for us. Food was excellent. Staff was very helpful and the SUV to airport was safe and comfortable.

We paid handsomely for a sea view and got it. The view was magnificent the room was kept clean, although room amenities like soap and bottled water were sparingly dispensed. Although some of the hotel staff were attentive and friendly, many were not. However, one employee, Mauro, was particularly helpful all throughout our 7 night stay.
