Chic & Town Luxury Rooms Piazza del popolo in Rome

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately this experience deserves one.
The room was significantly smaller than expected for five guests. The overall standard of the accommodation was far below what the photos suggested. The extra bed was nothing more than a mattress placed on top of an old bedside cabinet, the shower door did not fit properly and could not be closed, and the surrounding neighborhood was noisy and not particularly pleasant.
The cleanliness was acceptable, and the staff we met in person were polite. Unfortunately, that is where the positive aspects end.
During our stay, €100 disappeared from my wallet inside the room. I fully acknowledge that I should have used the safe, and that was my mistake. However, the money was there before we left and missing when we returned.
What happened afterward was even more disappointing than the missing money itself. Instead of receiving support, understanding, or a serious attempt to investigate the matter, I was essentially told that I might be mistaken or that someone from my own group of friends could have taken it.
As a guest, being treated with suspicion after reporting a problem is both frustrating and insulting. At no point did I receive a meaningful solution, only defensive responses and an apparent effort to shift responsibility elsewhere.
The €100 itself is not what bothers me most. What bothers me is the complete lack of accountability and the way a legitimate concern was handled. Trust is one of the most important aspects of hospitality, and once that trust is lost, everything else becomes irrelevant.
Rome is a beautiful city with countless accommodation options. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
