Four Rivers Suites in Rome in Rome

Overall, this is not a good hotel and I would recommend not staying here. It was the worst of four different hotels that we stayed at during two weeks in Italy. Here are the two worst parts, first: 1) The staff only works from 8am – 6pm. This prevents early/late check-in/check-out (which is very strange for a hotel), and means that any issues that you have late at night or early in the morning will go unaddressed 2) Also, they don’t have keypads. You are given an archaic key set of keys, held together on a giant loop, which you are required to use to guide yourself through four separate gates in order to reach the hotel – all of which have their own large and bulky key (which doesn’t account for the key you need to use to access the safe). This key chain is enough of a reason in itself not to stay at the hotel – it’s large, awkward, uncomfortable to cart around and easy to lose. And, as mentioned before, if you lose the key set at any point between 6pm – 8am, you’re out of luck and unable to access your room. The rooms are big enough, and the bathrooms worked well enough. The location is also “just OK’ – near some shops and sights, but centered on a busy street, without much character to the neighborhood. The bedding was very dirty, with clear yellow stains on the sheets when we arrived. They did not change the sheets once during four days of staying here, and we slept in what seemed like someone else’s urine stains the entire time. The WiFi was spotty and didn’t work well – it kept dropping and couldn’t play a video.The rooms are also connected by an outside balcony, which means that unscrupulous guests staying in other rooms could easily access your room and steal your belongings of they so chose. It's not expensive, but you're able to find other, better hotels for the price. I recommend staying at Numa Portico above this, which we stayed at for the first leg of our journey.
