The Westin Excelsior, Hotel in Rome

"If you're considering this hotel, choose another one. Add a little more to your budget and choose a different hotel." The Westin, part of the Marriott group, shouldn't be like this. Putting aside the ugly decor, considering it's an older hotel, service: 0. Luggage has to be carried up stairs ourselves. In other cities, they always helped us carry our luggage up, but they did deliver luggage from check-in to the room. The hotel facilities are very old; the tiles under the carpet in the hallways are broken, making it very bumpy. The doorknob in the room was broken, but thankfully still usable, though it took some effort. One of the spotlights in the room was broken, flickering, which, combined with their decor, created a rather eerie atmosphere. We agreed to check out at 3 PM, but on the day of check-out, the cleaning staff seemed eager to leave. They swiped in without knocking at 12 PM. Seeing someone was there, they quickly left. Then they went downstairs to pick up Chinese takeout and asked when we were checking out. Then at 2 PM, they came back to ask when we were checking out, and we replied 2:30. When we finally left, the cleaning truck was already waiting at the entrance; they must have been in a hurry to finish work, and we had delayed their departure. Anyway, considering the price, it's better to spend a little more and choose a better hotel!
