A fantastic hotel. There are only 14 rooms so this is a very high touch hotel - the ratio of staff to guest is very, very high. And the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. (We mentioned that we admired the boxed cocktail set and wanted to buy some to gift our friends. Could not be found anywhere in Rome! So they found some in their storeroom and gave them to us.) There is not a large shared ground floor lobby, but rather a beautiful rooftop bar and lounge. So the feel is more like walking into your own pied-a-terre, rather than a hotel. It is two blocks from the Spanish Steps, in the middle of luxury boutique shops so it is central. Perhaps too central? That is up to you. We went in February. In July and August, I imagine the neighborhood is a zoo. But I would assume the hotel is shielded from that once you get in. It's a trade-off. Bottom line - 1) very central, 2) super high touch, 3) luxury boutique/pied-a-terre feel vs. high end hotel feel. If that is what you want, you cannot go wrong.

Our family trip to Rome was unforgettable thanks to our stay at the Portrait Roma. From the moment we arrived, a warm greeting and enthusiastic staff made us feel truly welcome. Everyone there went above and beyond for both us and our 12YO son. The location made sightseeing and shopping effortless. There is a beautiful view of the Spanish Steps from the hotel. We found that we could walk to almost every sight and restaurant we wanted. Spacious rooms, outstanding service, warm, attentive hospitality and truly tailored recommendations made this a perfect five-star stay for our family. We can’t wait to return! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our stay, as always in this beautiful hotel, was amazing. The whole experience was just perfect; the room, breakfast at the roof, the ongoing concern for our needs and requests. And overall in one word: Perfect. Thank you and see you again next January (if not before).

This was my second stay at Lugarno Collection Hotels. The first one in Milan at Portrait Milano which was a true great experience, really 10/10. I gotta say Portrait Roma managed to be even superior in terms of service and attention of all the team. It is a challenge to be higher than 10/10 but they managed very well. From the complimentary room upgrade for the very special attention during my birthday and many special gifts. I could not be happier to be in Italy for my 40th birthday and choose to stay at this hotel. Thank you Mr. Gianluca and all the team members that made our vacation even more special.

Our stay at Portrait Roma truly elevated our entire Rome experience. From the impeccable cleanliness and crisp, beautiful rooms to the exceptional service and attention to detail, everything was flawless. The concierge team was outstanding and made our stay effortless. Rome is a beautiful city, but this hotel is what truly took the trip to another level. Highly recommended.

Portrait Roma truly feels like a second home for me whenever I’m in the Eternal City. Its intimate, boutique scale and the comfort of a fully equipped kitchenette make it ideal for longer stays and create a sense of ease that’s hard to find in traditional luxury hotels.

What truly sets Portrait Roma apart, however, is the exceptional Lifestyle Team. Their attention to detail, warmth, and genuine care elevate every stay. A special thank you to Simone, who helped secure one of the most sought-after tables at La Pergola, turning an already special trip into an unforgettable experience. And to Sara, whose thoughtful assistance throughout our stay made everything seamless and effortless.

It’s because of people like them that I find myself returning to Rome year after year. Portrait Roma isn’t just a hotel — it’s a place where you feel known, welcomed, and genuinely cared for.

My family and I stayed 3 days at Portrait Roma in early July. It was a wonderful, restful stay and we were sad to leave. The hotel is very quiet, even though it is located in a great location, close to restaurants and shopping. The hotel staff is so friendly and helpful. They took care of restaurant reservations, and the hotel has curated experiences and tours that they personally set up. They were there to assist with any of our particular needs. We enjoyed an amazing dinner and evening on the rooftop, at the restaurant Gigi, that the hotel set up for us. They also set up a historical Fiat tour that our kids really enjoyed. All the locals were looking and pointing with nostalgia at the very cool, historic Italian vehicle. We enjoyed the turn down service, which included tea and an assortment of treats every evening. It was small touches like this that were appreciated after a long day of sighting seeing. The buffet breakfast had assorted, pastries, juices, fruit, sausage, eggs, and a menu for items like pancakes, or if you would like to order from the menu, for a charge, but the Buffet breakfast was more than enough for us. We are a family of four and our two suites were beautiful and very spacious. An added bonus is that the executive studio and deluxe suite with terrace were connected by an external door. It was nice to have that option so that we could be together. The terrace had a lovely view, overlooking the Via Condotti, that we enjoyed every evening during our stay. The staff are very dedicated. The General Manager even helped with our luggage and saw us off to the airport. We can’t wait to stay at Portrait Roma again.

Great staff, facilities, food and location. This was an exceptional experience and reccomend for others to stay at these hotels by Portrait Hotels including the Hotel Lungarno (in Firenze). Other luxury hotels in the area are the same as in every city but the Portrait Roma offered a friendly oasis in the heart of the city enabling us to enjoy Rome and experience it anew! Thank you to the entire team at Portrait Roma!
