Boutique Hotel Anahi in Rome

Before arriving, I received an email letting me know that the room I had booked for my mother and me would be upgraded to a triple room. We were thrilled — especially since Rome was the final stop of our trip, and it coincided with my mother’s birthday. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations.

While the room was spacious, it appeared that an additional bed had simply been placed in the room, even though the reservation was for two people. The “main bed” had a headboard that was not secured and would fall forward as the bed moved. Our “courtyard view” turned out to be a brick wall, and the room was unbearably hot. I was told the air conditioning had been turned off for the season, and when I asked for a fan or any alternative, I was informed that nothing could be done.

The bathroom was another disappointment — it had no proper shower, just a tub handheld sprayer that could be attached to a small wall hook that barely stayed in place. The showerhead leaked water from the sides, and there was visible black dust around the air vents, which was concerning.

The Wi-Fi was also terrible- constantly going in and out. I don’t need to go into detail about how frustrating that is, especially while you’re in another country.

I felt terrible that my mother had to stay in such uncomfortable conditions. The photos online are wildly misleading compared to the reality of the room we received. Unfortunately, this stay did not reflect the quality or comfort we expected for the end of our trip.
