Casa per Ferie Domus Helena in Rome

In January 2026, I stayed one night at Domus Helena.
At first, the place gave me a bit a hospital vibe, but I had a nice stay here.

My room was spacious and clean. The bed was good. At night it was completely quiet, something I could really appreciate.
The staff were all very friendly.
Breakfast was very decent!
Advice: book straight on the hotel's website for best price.

I was very pleased with my stay; I stayed there for about a week. The location was great—close to restaurants and shops. You can walk to the Colosseum by plane. The breakfast was delicious, with a wide selection. The room was clean and spacious, and the service was friendly and helpful. The peace and quiet in the building was also noteworthy. I think I'll go back there during my next stay in Roma.

Clean, safe, quiet and new building. Basic rooms, but Rome is outside the doors. Nice breakfast. Excellent option for anyone looking to stretch travel funds.

Pros: perfect for solo traveler. Excellent location. Breakfast every morning + coffee. Comfy bed. Clean bathroom. Decent hair dryer. Closet to put clothes in + 3 hangers. Can control heat temperature. Has a desk and body mirror in room. Plenty of hot water when taking a shower. Can open and close window. Has Elevator. You can leave your luggage before check-in and after check-out.

Cons: Basic room. Breakfast is simple - some of the fruits tasted old. People being inconsiderate and slamming their door late at night. You can hear people talk in the hallway. You have to leave your key in the front desk when you leave and tell him your room number when you come back - doesn’t seem safe/secure (I didn’t have any issues with this.)

Terrific value. Rooms basic but very clean and updated. Comfortable beds, clean shower and bathroom. Breakfast has a wide selection and is well prepared. Staff incredibly nice and helpful. As for location, close to 2 Metro stations and the train station. 20 mins walk to the Colosseum. Only negative is the entrance being on a poorly lit side street. All in all a top notch job. Not the swanky hotel many insist on, but a perfect fit for my purposes and budget. Highly recommend this hotel!!!

The hotel is not exactly easy to find for people who do not speak the language. Yet It is actually not very far from the main train station and can be reached on foot..( around 10-15 minutes) The hotel is owned by a convent ( at the back of the hotel) and run by very friendly and efficient staff. What I like most about the hotel is cleanliness and its helpful staff. They’ll recommend good neighbourhood restaurants to you ( one restaurant close by was established in 1916) ,always fully booked, and very good price indeed. It is by no means a luxury hotel .If you’re looking for basic, no nonsense good accommodation, this is for you.

For me the main thing is clean very clean, comfortable bed, hot water and excellent breakfast

Located near the train station and quick metro access. No complaints.

Hygiene: The hotel as a whole is very clean and comfortable.

Service: The aunt and uncle at the front desk are very enthusiastic and greet us enthusiastically every time they see us.

Environment: There are many subways and shops around, which is very convenient overall. The breakfast provided by the hotel is super delicious😋👍.
