Reviews
Front desk service during our stay was wildly inconsistent. On the night of our arrival, a young male staff member appeared impatient due to our late arrival, but his behavior was still tolerable. On the second day, a middle-aged male staff member was polite, courteous, and genuinely helpful — the only front desk staff member who demonstrated proper hospitality.
The third day, however, was a complete disaster. An older white female staff member at the front desk behaved in an extremely rude, unprofessional, and confrontational manner. She accused us of failing to return our room key when leaving the hotel in the morning. What she failed to acknowledge was that no one was at the front desk at all when we left. According to the hotel’s stated working hours, we waited from 6:30 a.m. until 7:00 a.m., and no staff appeared.
When we raised this issue, instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, she insisted that we should have left the key unattended on the desk if no one was present. This suggestion is not only unreasonable but raises serious concerns about basic security and professionalism. Expecting guests to leave room keys unattended in a public area is unacceptable by any reasonable standard.
Her tone was accusatory and dismissive, showing a complete lack of service awareness or respect for guests. There was no attempt at explanation, assistance, or even basic courtesy.
I very rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience left me no choice. One staff member’s attitude was enough to undermine the entire stay. Despite the decent location and good breakfast, I cannot recommend this hotel due to the front desk service.
To clarify, the incident she criticized us for did not occur on our check-out day. It happened on a day when we were continuing our stay at the hotel and would be returning later that same evening. All of our luggage and valuables were still in the room.
At no point were we informed in advance that, if the front desk was unattended during official working hours, guests were expected to leave their room keys unattended on the front desk table. This expectation is both unreasonable and absurd, especially considering the obvious security risks involved.
On all other occasions during our stay, whenever we left the hotel and the front desk was properly staffed, we always returned the room key to the front desk as required. The accusation directed at us was therefore completely unjustified.
