Astor in Limone sul Garda

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is far enough from the center of Limone to be peaceful, yet still within a pleasant walking distance. The hotel is very clean, although in some areas the age of the building shows. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

The room offered a truly beautiful view over Lake Garda, and the large balcony added to the comfort.

For those who enjoy swimming in natural waters, the hotel’s private beach is a great spot. The vertical ladder from the pier is not ideal for elderly swimmers, but access is also possible from the sandy beach.

The swimming pool is large enough for proper swimming. Families with children should note that one end of the pool is very deep and the sloping bottom can be quite slippery.

The beach bar offers a good variety at reasonable prices, and the staff manage it in a friendly and efficient manner.

As with the rooms, the restaurant on the hotel’s fourth floor provides magnificent lake views.

Breakfast deserves a strong rating: the selection is wide and there is something to suit everyone’s taste.

The half-board menu is well thought out. At breakfast, the dinner options are presented so that guests can choose their preferred combination. There are sufficient alternatives for starters, main courses, and desserts. The wine recommendations match the food nicely. The dishes are mostly excellent, though in some cases the kitchen could have been a little bolder in exploring flavors. The monkfish, for example, was interesting to try but unfortunately bland and lacking in texture. Overall, however, the half-board offering is very good value for money and highly recommendable.

In short: An excellent hotel with stunning views, a superb private beach and pool, and a restaurant of a sufficiently high standard.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Astor - the location is perfect with stunning views of the lake and mountains, and a lovely private beach area for lounging and swimming. Very easy 10-15 minute walk to Limone. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast and rooftop bar food was delicious. Couldn’t fault anything. Special shout out to Giada on reception who was so kind and very helpful with everything we needed!

location amazing, very hot due to the air trapped in by mountains. Staff very helpful especially Giuseppe in the bar. Look after the staff and they will look after you. Giuseppe makes the best cocktails I have tasted and I am sure the acholic ones are just as tasty. Rooms are cleaned daily and the food value for money, breakfast is plentiful with wide variety of items. Will arrange to go back.

My excellent mark is based on value, location, food, cleanliness and of course the staff. On arrival we met Joeseppi, he was superb to deal with. The hotel is just on the outskirts of the beautiful Limone village about a 3 minute walk away. Dad is 88 years young and he loved the hotel. He was staying in room 232. The view from this room is stunning. We were staying in room 308, which is beside a rooftop where you can sun bathe all day. Both rooms were very clean and kept to a very high standard by a lovely lady, I never did get her name. The food is authentic Italian, all three of loved the food. Breakfast is excellent with a very hard working lady doing the cooking. In the evening there is a salad bar, the are three choices for first and second dishes followed by desert. We were never hungry. The views from the hotel are really stunning. Because we were with the travel department, we did not eat a la carte. However the food and drink in the hotel is cheaper than in the village. I cannot finish without mentioning Vanessa and Amastasia they were fantastic in the restaurant both morning and evening's. Joeseppi at the bar was also fantastic. All of the staff made our holiday. Our fabulous host on the tours was Martin a great guy. Thankyou Hotel Alexander for a brilliant holiday, highly recommended and yes we will be back.

This is a lovely hotel cleaned every day the food was nice and friendly staff, I was disappointed there is no kettle to make tea/ coffee the shower unit is just free standing just after the lobby area I thought this was a bit odd.. the location is great a short walk to the beautiful town and nice shops….

Stayed for 7 nights in May 25, found the hotel to be excellent. Had a lovely room with balcony, room was cleaned every day of our stay. Restaurant and bar staff very friendly and helpful, special thanks to Guiseppe who looked after us every evening. Would have no problem recommending this hotel. Perfect location, would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel, very nice and clean rooms. Nice staff, phenomenal view. Breakfast mediocre but not bad. Nice private pool and sunbathing areas. Very nice location and free parking! Would love to come back! :)
