We spent great family vacation with our 2 year old here. The apartment was clean and well equipped and the surroundings were great with an amazing pool and huge backyard, where our toddler could run freely. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. We also appreciated the location, as it was in very close proximity to Cortona and some lovely typical tuscan and umbrian towns.

Place has great grounds with garden and swimming pool. The apartments are well organised to give you comfort of cooking for yourself if needed.

Excellent spacious apartments,very clean comfortable beds. Very close to supermarket and 5 min drive from Cortona . Would definitely stay again, excellent value .

It was a lovely property, well situated near Cortona and Camucia. The Conad, grocery store is abour 2km away and there is a large market day in Camucia with some good food options,, although it's mostly clothing being sold.
Our only complaint really was the lack of a shower curtain in the bath, making it difficult to property wash without soaking the floor. One was once there, but all that remained were the mounting holes on the wall.
Otherwise, it was a lovely quiet property.

Great place to take a break
The receptionists were all very helpful and friendly. I did not find the town very welcoming to foreigners. We have three kids and it seemed frowned upon at the restaurants we went to. We’ve been all over Italy and it’s the first time we experienced this with our kids. Cortona needs to be a touch more accommodating to our-of-towners. Monastero San Silvestro is a place I would return to in a heartbeat. It’s charming and quiet and peaceful.

The place is tranquil and facing to the valley and mountains so wherever you are staying you can get a perfect view.
No breakfast service at the property however it is not a problem as local supermarket (Conad) is within 5 minutes drive so you go for bits and pieces and buy a variety of local fresh food: cheese, ham, sausages, veggies etc

Lovely setting nestled below Cortona with big garden and pool. We had a two bedroom self contained space with oven and cooktop. Very peaceful. Needed a couple more towels for our three day stay but otherwise we were very comfortable. Shops are close by to get essentials and Cortona a short drive up the hill.

This accommodation was a welcome surprise with its very picturesque buildings and grounds. We were very comfortable in our cute 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor. The manager gives you a brief rundown on the electronic gates and rooms. They are beautifully scented with Tuscan oils. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom had soft towels with plenty of hot water with gorgeous Tuscan shampoo and shower oils. The kitchen was adequate for basic cooking. However, remember there are no supplies other than 2 coffee pods, a few tea bags, and one complimentary bottle of water. We swam in the pool, which was cool but very clean. They supply a pool towel each. Suggestions we think would have made our stay even better: 1. A compendium in the room explaining the heating / cooling systems. Also, there is no information regarding key drop-off if you leave early and the gate is locked. We had to climb the gate. Despite the manager giving you a number to message, the reply is not instantaneous, and all this can be covered in an information booklet. It's a very easy fix 2. A dish rack that you could sit over the stove top and drained back into the sink (nowhere to put washed dishes as stove top right next to sink) 3. Spare tea-towels (only 1 provided for 3 days) 4. Given that there are no washing facilities (that we knew of), more than 1 bath towel would have been nice!

With Cortona just minutes away by car it was the perfect choice. If your looking for Villa Laura from Under a Tuscan Sun it’s only 500 meters away.
Book this as a couple or as a family you won’t be disappointed.

Very well restored old monastery. Exceptional building. Lots of space inside. Very useful little kitchenette. Private outdoor space appreciated. We really enjoyed the swimming pool, especially after a long day of walking exploring the most beautiful village: Cortona.
