Locanda Casanuova in Figline Valdarno

The location is beautiful!! The restaurant was good my husband had dinner, he ordered pasta and pannacota for dessert and the food was decent, nothing fancy just your topical Italian homemade style food. I only had a cup of peppermint tea because they have a set many and I did not like the options they offered and we paid 29€. I paid extra for the breakfast and was worth it! Few options but everything was delicious! Omg the arugula cucumber salad was amazing.
But……before you book this hotel you must consider if you can sleep at night without AC in June in Florence. I had to open the windows and of course in a place like this there is a lot of bugs so I got mosquito bites! If you like nature and are ok without air conditioning and TV at night you will love this place because the area is beautiful. The room I stayed in was kinda like an Attic?(did not look like the pictures at all) The bathroom was clean but the sofa bed was dirty also consider if you have knee problems there are stairs In this type of rooms! I booked 2 nights but I checked out early because I could not handle not having AC and decent internet connection. So I lost 130€ . The lady at checkout was really sweet and nice! But did not asked why I was checking out early 😂

Die Ruhe, der Erholungswert, das Essen ausgezeichnet, supergutes Service, wunderbares Ambiente, draußen viel Platz für einsame Ecken, sehr angenehm!

I found Locanda Casanuova absolutely amazing place for reconnecting and retreat. The host and all personnel are the kindest people ever. The food and wine is excellent, perfect combination of flavours with magnificent view to Toscana. Perfectly clean rooms with excellent olive cosmetics. We had absolutely great time in Casanuova and will come back there for sure! Thank you all people met in Casanuova.

a beautiful lavish, nicely invested garden and terrace (a dream of gardening come true), friendly staff, one gets an authentic impression of the Tuscany at a height of 260 metres; homely atmosphere.

disadvantages: no air condition (and the stone house stores the heat); only a four-course menu (quite a lot) is eligible for dinner; crowing cocks in the neighbourhood (next hill or so) in fact permanently all day long and as well at night, no sleep without earplugs); barking domestic dog chasing guests; strange: desk clerk almost exclusively talked to the man when having a man and an woman in front of her, even if the woman is having and discussing the travel documents. odd and disrespectful as if you were in the UAE or smthg.

just an information: the pond (pool) is too far away to use it casually (10 minutes walking through the woods down the hill). one would have to take stuff for a swimming trip with him, not sure if there's a toilet by the pond.
