B&B Cavour10 Firenze in Florence

The first thing you notice when you arrive is the great location the B&B has, it is walking distance to all important places in Florence. As soon as you open the street door you realize it is going to go downhill. Here a few things to take into consideration if you decide to book the place.
- The place is old, no elevator is available. Be prepared to carry your luggage to go upstairs.
- The furniture is old, both beds had a huge depression in the center of the mattress.
- The room smell to old building with humidity.
- The room is not made every single day. Neither new coffee cups given. As a matter of fact the coffee for 3 days and 3 persons given to us was one single capsule.
- Breakfast included is one expresó (italian style) and one small croissant. Anything outside that will be charged.
- Internet runs to 20Mb per minute, so not even streaming at the screen is possible.
- The window that the room has is not isolating the outside noise. So you have to tolerate all the street and bar noises from outside.

On top of that the contact that check you in, is unfortunately not responsive, you need to call to get answers that most likely will not resolve the issues.

I wanted to be able to write a positive review for this place but I simply cannot. Not only does the front of the building + front rooms smell of sewage, there are so many not-functional things in the room it’s kind of a joke. The AC barely works, the shower does not drain and neither does the sink, the wifi is almost non-existent and you won’t get signal here either, which is very frustrating because you’re basically unreachable once you get inside.

The door doesn’t close unless locked and the whole room is just dingy and weird. The only two nice rooms are the blue rooms—one in the rear, one in the front. The pale red room and pale yellow room are old, worn down and weird.

We were moved to this hotel after the hotel we actually booked was not prepared for us (our room was not cleaned and we found at 9 pm when we checked in). Then we were made to switch rooms the next morning because our room was booked that evening.

The location is great and the staff did their best to help us but it was really disappointing. All in all it’s been one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in a while. Didn’t choose to stay here and i would not recommend.

No tea or coffee facilities, dirty bathroom, someone else's hairy soap was left in shower, blocked sink, smell of drains.
No one for check in you have to ring and then follow WhatsApp instructions.
Breakfast is down street in nearby cafe, this is a coffee and pastry which was ok.
Location of property excellent.

Extremely disappointing. Not recommended.
No communication from the property prior to arrival. We arrived early to leave our bags as offered in the booking, but no one was there. The property could not be contacted through the Hotels app. We went back at check in time, but again no one was there. Another traveller let us in to the building and made contact with the manager for us. He arrived at the property 1.5 hours later and claimed he had no contact details for us. Our details are correct in the app and other properties have had no such issues. Other travellers confirmed similar issues with this property. Despite the room being ok, we could not recommend this property.

Awful! Read the other reviews and avoid. Not as advertised. Mini fridge doesn’t work. Broken fans. Air con broken (it was 35 C outside and 31 C inside !), staff unresponsive. They REALLY don’t give a hoot about their guess, and the room is the pits. Because of the location they will just book the next sucker in. If you want to live like a backpacker with no ventilation or aircon, and moldy bathroom with no amenities of any sort, go for it. Otherwise, take heed that everything in the advert is a lie, and you will get nothing but disappointment.
