Hotel Domus Florentiae in Florence

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was very disappointing overall. The room and almost all of the facilities were very old and did not feel clean or elegant. For example, the blanket and bed cover were worn out and full of lint, which made them look unhygienic.

The shower was rusty and very unstable — it could easily come out of place just by turning it. In addition, the water temperature was not consistent: the water would suddenly turn cold while showering. Overall, all the systems in the room felt outdated and poorly maintained.

What bothered me the most was the feeling that the hotel did not really care about guests or tourists and was mainly focused on charging extra money. For instance, the refrigerator was filled with drinks and water, but there was no clear information that these items were not free. On the last day, I used two soft drinks and two bottles of water and was charged 14 euros, which felt misleading and unfair.

However, I must mention a positive point: the breakfast was very good. The staff member working at the bar/restaurant, Mr. Saleh, was extremely kind and welcoming. Every day, he prepared and served a special type of scrambled eggs made with milk and cheese, which was delicious and clearly prepared with care. His behavior made breakfast the best part of the stay.
