Albergo Casentino in Poppi

Room was small but comfy and very, very clean. View was absolutely lovely, furniture has an old timey feel to it which I very much enjoyed. Do not expect fancy, new stuff, this is an old building with its own charm and quite rustic, nevertheless the bathrooms are fully equipped and spotless. Did I mention how clean it was? Very clean.
Did the booking on a whim as the place I was recommended did not have available rooms, and boy am I glad they didn't because I managed to find a gem of a place, on top of a hill, next to a Duke's castle from medieval times with breathtaking views of the beautiful area around it. Poppi is indeed a gem and this place, the service, the food the views make it an absolute steal. Try the food, the house wine go all in. It passes the vibe check and I do intend to bring my family on a vacation here.
Also it's up on the hill so expect to have to do a bit of walking, it is worth spending the calories. Also they speak English, pay by card and try the food.

Tasty food. The restaurant offers varied dishes from the Italian cuisine. We liked the pasta with ragu and the beef slices with rosemary.
