La Gustea Hotel & Cucina in Sarteano

Nicely furnished rooms and a small but very good restaurant.

During a stay in Val d'Orcia, we returned to this hotel for the third time. What can I say? Everything was perfect: the rooms were spacious and clean, the service impeccable, and the breakfasts and dinners were unforgettable for their exquisiteness and quality. A sincere thank you to Nadia and Felice for everything, and for their attentiveness to our requests. We will definitely be back, and we absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Very clean and comfortable.

Everything was very nice, and above all, very friendly and accommodating. English is spoken well. We also really appreciated the proper breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, cold cuts and cheese, cakes, muesli, etc., and not just the dry croissant with a dollop of jam that's so common in Italy. We will definitely come back!

Magnificent!
Magnificent, full of charm. The welcome is fantastic and the owner speaks French. The hotel-restaurant is in a quiet location, the restaurant is very good and offers Italian cuisine, and a pizza menu that is excellent. There is a private, open parking lot where we were able to park our motorcycle.

I recently returned from a 2-week stay at La Gustea. This was the third time I've stayed at this wonderful hotel within the last eight years, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else when I visit beautiful Sarteano. The owners, Nadia and Felice, are delightful hosts, and Nadia generously offers advice about visits to some of the town's historic sites and points of interest, as well as help with other needs of her hotel guests.

The hotel is located just outside of the historic center of Sarteano on a quiet residential street. Some of the rooms have a view of Sarteano's hilltop castle. The rooms have recently been updated. They are immaculate, with excellent lighting, as well as high-quality furnishings and fixtures. I also enjoyed the creative new palette of colors in my comfortable and spacious room.

The breakfast that's included is exceptional, with a variety of fresh baked pasteries and croissants, farm fresh eggs cooked to order, prosciutto, seasonal fruits, and much more.

The hotel also operates a restaurant that offers pleasant indoor and outdoor seating. Although I enjoy having dinners in the many excellent restaurants in the town, my favorite dinners are at the hotel. Felice is a wonderful and creative chef, and every entree I've ordered has been high quality and with a particularly delicious blend of ingredients. My two favorite menu items this year were the fried zucchini blossoms and the handmade pici with white pork ragu, ginger, and lemon. His pizzas are also the best in the area!

Five stars are not enough! I had a wonderful experience here. It is very quiet and clean, and breakfast was delicious. The pizzas were sooo good!

Nadia and Felize are the nicest people that you could ever meet. They were very welcoming. Any accommodation that I needed Nadia was there to assist. It was such a personalized experience that I felt at home, even as a solo traveler. Nadia even went above and beyond to help me with transportation.

The location was great, I walked to the town piazza most days, which was only a 12 minute walk. I will definitely be back.

Friendly and helpful owners, the hotel is spotless, welcoming with all comforts. Excellent cuisine with a wide choice of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bright, clean rooms. Perfect place for both families and friends, my children were very happy.

Imagine you wake up and open your window to contemplate the magnificence of a true tuscan village, with fresh air, away from city noise. When you go down for breakfast, a chef is waiting on you to whatever wish you may have. That was my experience on this small, family owned hotel. It was just amazing. Generous space, there is a lift in case you need it, rooms were spotless and service was great. It was a pity I didn't use this one as a hub for my visit to Tuscany, but definitively I'll come back to this one.
