Antico Portego in Venice

The room was clean, and the drinks in the fridge were free to use.
The shower had plenty of hot water.
I also got the impression that the hotel had a fairly good range of amenities.
As it's an unmanned hotel, checking in was difficult and confusing, and there's no elevator, so it's hard to carry your luggage if you have one.

Stunning new rooms in a 16th-century palazzo. I stayed in January, and it was wonderfully warm, which was a huge plus! The rooms are immaculate, have everything you need, and smell lovely. It's an easy walk from the station (just one bridge, convenient even with luggage), or you can take a vaporetto. The common areas are beautiful, with vintage touches everywhere. I'd happily stay here again. It's located near a lively street with plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants nearby.

I booked the Deluxe Apartment on Trip.com, which corresponds to room 414 Canaletto.

This isn't a typical hotel; it's more like apartments, meaning there's no reception or staff on-site. Check-in is done according to instructions sent the day before arrival.

Cons: The hotel only contacts you the day before your arrival, which can be a little stressful. I would have preferred earlier communication. Also, you'll need to climb stairs to reach almost all the rooms, so keep that in mind if you have luggage!

Overall: I absolutely loved this place! Beautiful, clean rooms and a convenient location! I recommend it, but be aware of these nuances.

Yes room spotless staff was nice really no amenities just the room they let you in by keypad there isn’t someone onsite so you have to contact them through WhatsApp but I was fine with that! They give you snacks and drinks and a bottle of champagne complimentary which was great after a long train ride! There is a great restaurant right across the street and plenty of restaurants in that location! My only complaint was the mattress was too firm for me, I don’t like to sleep on cardboard but if you like that you will love this… my saving grace was the pillows there are plenty of them and they have a nice mix of firm/softness! Would I stay there again … yes 😘!

Great location located in the busy area but get very quiet and peaceful. The Luxury room was great, spacious and large king size bed which was very comfortable. Staff were friendly.

This just might be the perfect blend between Venice elegance and convenience. The Antico Portego is just down from the canals giving you a rare opportunity to enjoy Venice and not have to climb stairs with your luggage.
While getting there is easy, the area around our hotel was great too. Fun shopping, spots to enjoy a glass of wine, and food options are all right outside the door.
Lastly, our room was elegant. There was far more space than the typical room and it was updated and quiet.
What else could you ask for?

The hotel is in a very good location, on the main island of Venice, just a short walk from the train station. The hotel is quiet in a bustling city. When you enter from the street, there is a large interior space with a small courtyard where you can sit, read a book or use the computer. However, I didn't notice when I made the reservation that this was a B&B and not a hotel. There are actually no services here, and no one cleaned the room for a few days. The room was very small, and there wasn't much to clean. But the most inconvenient thing was that there was almost no place to put things in the room. It was very impractical. There was only a small table, which was piled with things. It was extremely crowded, and it was not easy to find a good place to open the two boxes. Check-in and check-out are handled by yourself. The rooms on the island seemed to have no screens, and it was too stuffy if the windows were not opened. There were many poisonous mosquitoes. The rooms were equipped with electric mosquito coils, but the smell was really choking. I unplugged the electric mosquito coils and chose to open the windows for a short time for ventilation.

The price was a bit high, but the cleanliness was quite good, and the location was also good. Staying on the island was very convenient; you could walk to almost anywhere. They even gave us a lot of drinks. The room was huge, a one-bedroom apartment. The building itself was also quite safe, and there were various restaurants downstairs, which was very convenient.

The hotel is within 10-minute walk from the train station, and surrounded by different stores and restaurants. The water bus station is only a few steps away so everything is convenient. The staff here can speak proficient English. The only downside will be the check-in/ check-out process. It is a bit unclear to me so that I need to have a phone call in order to check-in/ store my luggage. But we figured this out without taking too much extra time. So I’d say the staff are helpful. Also the room looks nice and clean, with proper AC as well. We are treated with some free soda so generally speaking, a very pleasant stay.

What a pleasant place, I loved my stay. The hotel definitely has a nice atmosphere, but it is comfortable at the same time. And Georgia is the kindest person, always willing to help. I would return to this B&B for sure
