Best accommodation!!! Very friendly staff and their meals is super nice

This is a truly special onsen hotel. Each guest stays in their own individual house, which makes the experience feel private and peaceful. The property is secluded and quiet, beautifully decorated with Japanese taste — the tatami rooms are elegant and authentic.
Every house comes with its own private onsen, both indoor and outdoor, so you can soak in complete comfort. The staff are incredibly attentive and sincere, trying hard to communicate in English and making you feel genuinely cared for. A highlight was the lady in kimono who served us dinner and breakfast — she was gentle, elegant, and simply beautiful in her manner.
The kaiseki dinner was incredible, full of delicate flavors, and breakfast was equally delicious. The only thing to note is that it’s on a hillside, about a 10‑minute drive to the main tourist attractions, so having a car makes the stay much easier. The hotel has free parking.
Overall, Yufuin Rakuyu offers a serene, authentic Japanese onsen experience with outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended, and I’d love to return.

This onsen hotel exceeded my expectations – it was truly excellent!

First off, every room has its own private onsen, offering complete privacy, so you can enjoy a hot spring bath anytime you like! The hotel environment is beautiful, perfect for taking photos. We were lucky enough to encounter snow, which was the icing on the cake!

What's more, the room was fully equipped and impeccably clean! Since we visited in winter, it was incredibly thoughtful that there were heaters everywhere, even in the bathroom.

We booked the 'one night, two meals' package, and the food was delicious! The dishes were very unique, and you could really feel the restaurant's dedication. Extremely satisfied!

The staff were excellent – friendly and approachable, making me feel right at home.

Regarding transportation, we originally planned to drive, but canceled our car rental due to the weather. We took the train to Yufu Eki, pre-booked the shuttle with the hotel, and arrived in about 10 minutes!

Overall, this is a highly recommended gem of a hotel! I'll definitely be back!

This was a wonderful stay. After a short tour of Yufuin, the shuttle service I'd requested arrived in front of Yufuin Station. We enjoyed welcome tea in the lounge and were then guided to our accommodation. Having a Korean guest made it even more comfortable. The accommodation was clean and spacious, with everything we needed. The fridge was free of charge, and the coffee was delicious. Think of it as a private, standalone pension. The bathroom and sink were separate, both spacious and comfortable. The hair dryer and curling iron were also provided, which was incredibly convenient. Usually, hotel hair dryers are weak and take a long time to dry, but this one was the best! The manager and staff were all friendly, and I went with my mom and was very satisfied. The photos don't show everything, but this was the best accommodation I've ever stayed in Japan. I'd love to go back with someone special!

Booking this hotel was a pleasant surprise. Our group of eight was lucky enough to stay in three different onsen-style houses. The Japanese-style rooms were comfortable, clean, and spacious, each with its own private onsen. The food in the two-bedroom accommodation was high quality and exceeded our expectations. Since the hotel is away from the tourist area, they provided shuttle service to and from the station, as well as to Kinrin Lake. Overall, the experience was excellent.

The hotel's design and layout are excellent. My room had two outdoor baths. The hotel staff and chef were all very polite. The hotel price quoted is for accommodation only, not for a room and meals package. I didn't compare other hotels in the area, but I personally think that for this price, the environment and layout are very good.
