Super nice area was very nice Staff they spoke English.
Hot onsen was lovely. Most importantly, it was very quiet and relaxing.

She wanted a proper ryokan experience, so after some searching, we found one that felt right—well-kept, understated, and quietly confident.

We arrived just before 5pm and were met at the car park by a gentleman who greeted us by name and carried our luggage in. Inside, we were welcomed by Na (I hope I got that right), who walked us through everything—the onsen, breakfast, the rhythm of the place—before leading us to our room.

The ryokan has been around for close to a century, and you can feel it. Not in a grand or showy way, but in the stillness. Standing by the window, looking down at the pond—ducks drifting across, carp circling slowly—it was almost too quiet, the kind that makes you pause without realising.

We headed out briefly that evening to explore the small town and grab dinner, but came back early. The onsen drew us in—hot water against the cool night air—and by the time we laid out the futons, everyone was ready to sink in. Soft, simple, and unexpectedly comfortable.

Morning came gently—birds in the background, ducks already awake. At breakfast, our family name was waiting for us, and the spread was generous without being excessive. We ate more than we should have.

By 10am, we were packing up again. All the staff was there to send us off. 

Old facility but you have privacy.

The room was great, the breakfast and dinner were good, and it was quiet at night. It was a good value for money. It was conveniently located near Shimoda Station, and a shuttle bus was available upon call. It's a Japanese-style onsen hotel.

The overall service is meticulous, the hotel is small and beautiful, the experience is very good, the hot springs and meals are a plus

There is a hot spring in the large bathhouse, and the rooms also have private baths. The rooms are very large, there are three, and the open-air private bath is in the courtyard. It is very comfortable to soak in the private bath while looking at the courtyard. The service is also very good. There are no disadvantages except that it is a bit expensive.

It's OK, but there are some small bugs.

The hotel is located in a secluded area and it takes more than four hours to drive from Narita Airport, but once you enter, you will feel that it is well worth it.
The environment is elegant and comfortable, the room is clean and spacious, and the private bath is great!
Dinner and breakfast the next day were both served in the hotel restaurant. The ingredients were fresh and abundant, especially the famous local golden eye sea bream dishes. 

The hotel is not close to the railway station. I drove to the hotel and there was a parking space, which was very convenient. I really appreciate the hotel's hot spring environment. The dinner was also very rich.
