Kurofune Hotel in Shimoda

The rooms were spacious, clean, and tidy, with balconies offering stunning sea views of the black ships. Transportation was convenient, very close to Shimoda Station, less than a ten-minute walk. There was free parking at the pier across the street. The Japanese-style breakfast and dinner were excellent. The onsen (hot spring bath) was wonderful. However, being so close to nature, a huge centipede was found in the room. We informed the front desk, and someone immediately came and skillfully eliminated it with spray—it seemed to be a common occurrence. There were spiders on the restaurant walls that the staff and guests ignored, and small insects frequently floated on the surface of the open-air hot spring. In short, the accommodation and food were excellent, but some foreigners, unfamiliar with such things, were not used to the various insects 🐛

The hotel is 850m away from the train station, it has an Onsen that’s very good, the rooms are big and nice but they have a strange smell.

I booked a private room with an outdoor bath meal plan where I can stay with my pet and I was worried. I was a little worried about the criticism of this review, but the impression was "very satisfied!" When we arrived, there were no foreign staff on the lips and everyone treated us politely. The building itself is old, but I thought it was clean. Because it is a room where pets can stay. Is it a dog smell? I thought, but it does not smell at all, and other dogs do not lose hair, so it was very comfortable. There were also two air purifiers, and I felt taken care of. And most importantly, the outdoor bath in the room had a really beautiful view. The hot water is a little hot, but it was the best hot water I have felt comfortable in once I got used to it. If you ask the front desk, you can adjust the amount of hot water. And all the dishes that I was looking forward to were delicious and I was very satisfied. The glutton master was also pleased with the volume that filled it. It was just in the mountains, so there were few bugs. There was also a note that said if you are having trouble with it, contact the front desk, so I think if you contact me you will be able to answer. The outdoor bath also has a net to remove bugs and leaves, and I was impressed by how thoughtful it was. Both my daughter and husband told me that I will definitely come back.
