My room was spacious and spotless. My window looked out toward the beautiful Japanese Alps, nice to wake up to! I would highly recommend booking the meal plans for both dinners and breakfasts... the inn is a bit of a walk from town (very do-able), but it was so nice to eat right there, and the meals were just fantastic! Staff is great, the baths are wonderful... would stay there again.

The staff were incredibly friendly and always smiling. The place was spotless, and we appreciated that yukata were provided for everyone to wear to the baths. No private showers were available (they're currently under renovation), but the onsens were absolutely fantastic and separated for men and women. Unbeatable value for money! 😉

The room felt a bit cramped, with two futons laid out between the two beds, leaving little space for luggage. But if you're only staying to sleep, it's perfectly adequate. While the bathroom facilities were shared, having a large public bath was a big plus. It would have been good to have paper towels and hand soap available in the washbasin area.

It is a hotel where you can experience traditional style of Japanese room and shared onsen. The hotel was clean, both in the room and shared spaces. Amenities provided were sufficient. It is very close to the Hida village (open-aired museum) which is very nice, though a bit far from the city center where located other attractions. So, it is more recommended for those travelers who have a car to drive around.
The breakfasts came in traditional hida style set (i guess), and were delicious, especially the hoba miso.
The staff are nice and friendly too! Love it!
