Yumoto Chouza in Takayama

We had a fantastic stay. The onsens were the absolute highlight. Food, room, and service were all great. Beautiful secluded location albeit a little difficult to reach.

If I had to gripe about something it’d be the cleanliness- a stink bug got into our room at one point and some of the outdoor onsens had floating bits of plants/debris. But overall not a big problem and to be somewhat expected of an older building in the mountains.

The hotel is beautiful both inside and out. It's convenient to drive there, and public transportation is available, but not so convenient... The style is very Japanese, the restaurant is huge, but the presentation of the food is more important than the quality. The soup is small, but the complimentary private soup is a plus.

The environment is beautiful and clean, the food is delicious, the service is excellent and friendly, and the bus to the hotel is very convenient. In addition to a public bath, there are also 3 private hot springs to soak in. Highly recommended!

The service, facilities, and environment are all excellent, and the surroundings are beautiful, with a breathtaking view at every turn. The private onsen is completely free. The hotel also provides small electric lights, allowing you to enjoy the nightlife. The water is also excellent, leaving your skin with a natural, reflective effect. However, the food was mediocre. I paid extra for the A5 Hida, but only got one slice. The local cuisine for breakfast was inedible. Perhaps I'm not used to eating on my own. I recommend bringing some food; it's simply not good.

It's great. If you have the time and money, you should stay there for a week to enjoy the nature and purify your soul. The food should be different due to regional differences. The food is generally salty. The staff can communicate in basic English and the service is also great.

Okuhida Onsen is one of the best hot spring areas in Japan. Yumoto Nagaza in Fukuchi Onsen is one of the best in the whole Okuhida Onsen. 100% original soup + carbonated sushi + awesome old Japanese houses & surrounding scenery. The only flaw is probably the dinner... good-looking but average local kaiseki cuisine, except for the beef, most of the other dishes are average.

A bit far from everything, so a pure onsen place with 2 meals. Food is great@

First of all, I want to praise the hotel's service. The hotel is at the entrance of Fudi Hot Spring H41 Station. After the snow accumulates in winter, the geographical location is very convenient, and there is no need to push luggage in the snow. Since the H41 station Nongfei bus stops every 2 hours, the hotel also provides pick-up and drop-off services from H45 Fudi Hot Spring Station. When I arrived at the hotel, because I was wearing very thick snow boots, the female general knelt down to help me take off my shoes. I was really flattered. The hotel staff's English is not very good, but the female general will still try her best to explain the hotel facilities to us with a smile, and we can feel their enthusiasm. There is welcome rice wine at the entrance to drive away the cold. There is a row of ducklings made by Chinese tourists at the entrance, which the hotel has kept. It is worth mentioning that the two public hot springs outside the hotel are 100% source springs, which is also the main reason why I chose the hotel.

Japanese-style garden hot spring hotel, good environment, large space. The meals in the morning and evening are also very good, highly recommended.
