Grand Mercure Sapporo Odori Park in Sapporo

I had a very comfortable stay at Grand Mercure Sapporo Odori Park.. so comfortable that I did consider extending my holiday in Sapporo. From the friendly and professional staff, to riding the elevators with external view, to the large relaxing winter city view at my room, it was a welcoming retreat each day when I returned. In the current "environmental friendly / sustainability" (= no longer so service orientated mode for travellers) drive in hotels around, I really value the daily thorough and neat room cleaning service. The hotel provided a very subtle, non-intrusive hospitality which I truly appreciated. Location wise, it's less than 5 mins walk to subway station, making it very accessible. This is my first time staying at the hotel but definitely won't be my last.

Very nice hotel clean rooms friendly staffs. The lobby is amazing. The buffet breakfast is so yummy. Perfect for family who wants safety and relaxation as priority for their vacation. We will definately stay here again next year. Highly recommended

I'm not sure how anyone could give this hotel less than 5 starts. First, I got a king size bed. That's so hard to find in Japan other than at my own house. The bed was a bit firm but that's typical here. The lounge area is open for snacks and free drinks including wine, beer, coffee from 3-7 and then again from 9-11. That option was a favorite for all of us because it gave us a nice place to congregate after walking around in the snow viewing the snow sculptures. The location to the subway is a 3 minutes walk and if you are here for the snow festival, the main part starts at that same area. It's an easy walk to the tower. I would definitely stay here again.

And the highlights is evening lounge from 9pm was packed with unlimited beer wine spirits

The morning buffet is exceptional — a perfect blend of local flavors and international favorites. Highlights include beautifully prepared seafood, fresh dairy products, and made-to-order burger and egg Benedict that taste as good as they look. The variety includes all Sapporo local specialties such soup curry, seafood don, rich seafood miso soup and Hokkaido Yorgurt.
In the evening, the lounge transforms into a cozy, sophisticated space — the perfect spot to wind down after exploring Sapporo. The mochi and other finger food is a delightful touch, offering a fun and authentic taste of Japanese tradition. Pairing it with a chilled glass of Sapporo Classic beer adds a truly local flair.

The room is a bit tight but the curtain is completed darkened and make it possible to have a good night sleep especially if you have a jet lag. The bed headboard is conveniently equipped with USBA, USBC and regular power charger.

The staff are warm and attentive, creating a relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

Overall, Grand Mercure Sapporo Odori Park delivers a memorable culinary experience from morning to night — refined, local, and full of charm.

Highly recommended for travelers who appreciate thoughtful hospitality and quality Hokkaido flavors.

I recommend it. This hotel was built during the bubble era. At the time, it was known as a daring establishment, inaccessible to the general public, and had a VIP feel to it. In fact, this is what happened. As the days passed, the situation in the hotel business changed. Royton Sapporo is not changing I like politics. You can see this by printing it out. For example Customer Service Frontman For example Quality amenities For example Cleanliness It is not expensive to use now. Should I call Royton directly?

The room is bigger than my expectation for a Japan hotel. Old but maintained very well. The room is warm during winter and the window can't be opened. Do chill with cold water and cool yourself before come back for rest. The internet is not working most of the times.
