Considering the age of the hotel, it's actually quite well-maintained. The only minor issue is the bathroom is a bit small, making it hard to find space for toiletries. However, the view outside the window is absolutely fantastic; you can enjoy the panoramic scenery effortlessly morning, noon, and night.

Really best of the best, location (5 mins from shin kobe station, subways local trains to hotel, ropeway and herb gardens etc). Best service upon check in, best food, best room. No words to express my happiness during my stay in this hotel.

Good location can just take the lift down to subway and shinkansen. Great breakfast and room slightly bigger than normal.

The hotel is conveniently located right next to Shin-Kobe subway station, just one stop away from Sannomiya, the city center. However, that one subway stop costs 210 yen, which is quite a bit more expensive than what you'd pay back home. So, if you have some time, a pleasant 10-15 minute walk is a great alternative. The cable car for the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens is also right by the hotel, making it easy to take it up and then enjoy a leisurely stroll back down.

The facilities are quite old, and the refrigerator hums too loudly. I had to turn it off at night to sleep. Luckily, after discussing it, I was able to store items needing refrigeration in the hotel's customer service fridge.

Due to a canceled flight from Osaka to Sapporo, Trip.com rebooked us for the next day, flying from Kobe, and we stayed at the Crown Plaza Hotel. It's an old, established 5-star hotel, over 30 years old. There are two daily shuttle buses to and from Osaka Kansai Airport, which is very convenient. It's right above Shin-Kobe Station, and a 20-minute walk to Sannomiya. The hotel breakfast was just okay, but the ambiance and service were excellent. Because our flight was canceled, I had to cancel a whiskey distillery tour scheduled for the next afternoon, and the hotel staff kindly helped me call the distillery to arrange that. The price was about a third of what it would cost domestically, making it fantastic value for money.

Couldn't tell the room size from the platform, so I booked this room type which seemed good (though expensive!). We only went to the lounge upstairs once. Breakfast offered a wide variety, including Japanese specialties. Getting around was very convenient, with a subway station right downstairs. You can even walk to Sannomiya.

Good location! Close to tourist attractions, subway stations, Shinkansen Station. Even have the express bus service to different locations, line osaka airport or Naruto tokushima. Breakfast is good, hotel rate is reasonable. Recommended if you are looking hotel in Kobe!

The breakfast was excellent.

However, the carpet in the room was noticeably dirty, and the bed was quite damaged, which is really not up to the standard of a star-rated hotel.

Furthermore, due to ongoing construction, workers would pass by the balcony, forcing me to keep the curtains drawn at all times (this was not disclosed at the time of booking).

When arriving at the main entrance by taxi, we were stopped. The taxi meter kept running during the wait and for the alternative route, leading to guests being forced to pay extra fees.

I explicitly raised these issues at the front desk, but the only response I received was "we apologize for the construction." These situations should have been communicated in advance during booking, and any additional costs incurred due to construction should have been covered by the hotel.
