Rinn Shirakawa South in Kyoto

The room was incredibly spacious! It had a central living room, with a Japanese-style tatami room on one side and a Western-style bedroom on the other. My kids absolutely loved sleeping on the tatami mats, and from that room's window, we could even see the Grand Torii Gate of ****. We enjoyed breakfast and late-night snacks together at the huge dining table in the living room – it was so relaxing!

The hotel isn't far from Higashiyama Station on the Tozai subway line. From there, you can take it to Sanjo to transfer to the Keihan Line, or to Karasuma Oike for the Karasuma subway line. The Tozai line also goes directly to Nijo Castle, so transportation is quite convenient for sightseeing. Although it's a bit further from the bustling downtown area, a couple of subway stops is perfectly fine. There's a convenience store and a Fresco supermarket nearby, which was handy for picking up food and drinks.

Within walking distance of the hotel, you can reach ****, Yasaka Shrine, and Chion-in Temple (they have a fun vending machine inside that plays chanting and bell-ringing sounds!). It's also not too far to walk to Gion from there. On the first floor of the hotel, there's a microwave, washing machine, ice machine, and even manga you can borrow to read. All in all, it was a very quiet and comfortable stay!

Location and service is good.

The accommodations were in good condition, and the staff were friendly and helpful. You can walk to Gion Street, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple is about a 40-minute walk away. It's a great place to experience the Kyoto atmosphere while strolling. There's a small market right next door, and there's a beautiful stream. It's a good location.

An excellent hotel for families, with easy access to the historic district. It's quite clean and quiet, and there's a laundromat nearby.

I highly recommend this hotel. It's very close to the Jr line, bus station, and convenience stores, all within a 3-5 minute walk. The hotel has a very soothing aroma that's incredibly pleasant. There's an elevator, so you don't have to worry about carrying your luggage. I was lucky enough to get it during a special offer (only about $46 per person per night). The room was spacious and very clean, and I was truly blown away by the value! The front desk staff also speak English, so communication was generally straightforward. They will provide you chopstick, salt if you need. There's a water dispenser, washing machine, and ice cube dispenser on the first floor, which is super convenient. All amenities in the room were also provided. Overall, I'm very satisfied and highly recommend this hotel

There should be a total of 4 futons, 3 futon sets and 1 double bed, but they only gave me 2 futon sets. When I asked, they said that if there were 5 or more people, they would give me a futon for free, or that if not, they would charge an extra 2,000 yen. I was really dumbfounded. I clearly said that the room could accommodate 4 people when I made the reservation, but how could 5 people fit in that room? It might have been different if they had said that the room could accommodate 5 people from the beginning or that they would only provide 2 futons. The location was a bit far from the station, but that made the area around the hotel feel very Japanese. Everything else was good and I was satisfied.

The room is very big, with two bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom. It is very spacious and is very good for four people to stay in.

Second stay, still very satisfied. The hotel room is large and warmly decorated. The nearest subway station is only 3 minutes walk away. The hotel has a shared microwave and ice machine. There are two supermarkets and a coin-operated laundromat at the intersection, which is very convenient. There is a clear river behind the alley, and the children don't want to leave after playing in the water. Next time I come to Kyoto, I will choose to stay here again.

Very good, very close to Dongshan subway station, only 2 minutes to walk through the nearest path, very quiet, we booked a larger room, very comfortable ~
