• room: room is well equipped with fridge (mine was silent) air purifier and enough space to work on the desk. I stayed during a cold week and the only heater was through the ac which was not very warm and sufficient to warm up the room and mattress

• amenities: breakfast is japanese style and very tasteful

• location: central and 20-25 min walking distance from train station, turistic and shopping area, river and shrines

• staff: not supportive and ready to give you a set of standard answers declining help regardless if they could actually help

my background: I travel 320 days a year since 8 years staying in all range of accomodation from hostel to 5star. I just review objectively what I see with no judgement

Toyoko Inn is my favorite hotel because it's clean and comfortable, but the walls at the Gojo Karasuma location seem quite thin. I could clearly hear the voices and sounds from the next room, and I couldn't relax because I kept thinking, "They can hear me too, right?!"

I wanted to eat, but there weren't many seats available, so I gave up.

Being able to leave our luggage before and after check-in was a huge help!

It was close to the station and a city bus stop, so transportation was very convenient.

There was also a convenience store right next door, which was very handy.

The breakfast area was a bit cramped, and sometimes there wasn't enough space to sit, which was a shame, but we could eat in our room, so it wasn't a problem!

+ Nice room, clean, there are washing machines on the first floor (by coins).
- The air ventilation system was a little noisy. Not too much, but distracting for me. Checkout at 10:00 is a bit too soon :)

Everything was perfect! I couldn't fault anything, it was fantastic!
The staff were very friendly and the room was kept clean and above average!

I intentionally booked a smoking room, but the smell in Umeda was so strong, right? But here, I was surprised there was practically no smell. The staff were especially friendly, which was the best. If I go back, I'll definitely stay here. There's also a station nearby, so it's a great location for those heading to Umeda or Namba from Kyoto.

Toyoko is a chain hotel. The facilities are similar in size. I have stayed here many times before and I like it. I am satisfied.
