The hotel is nice and clean, but the rooms are really small. If you don't mind small rooms then it's alright. The breakfast bento box is nice.

Everything was good. I would have preffered a more japanese breakfast tho. Onsen was clean and with a nice view. The room was quiet and spacious for one person. I would have liked to stay another night to enjoy it to the fullest. The only negative was that the shower was very small. However if you use the onsen thats no issue.

The hotel is great, close to attractions, and the breakfast, served in a bento box, was quite good.

The location is a hike to be sure. The stuff is friendly and kind. However, the price is a bit high for the off season. I still don’t understand how they made my room look larger than it was. Not very large rooms. The tub was great for a soak after all the walking you will be doing. #kyotolimp.

The hotel lobby has plenty of seating and features a large collection of comic books, which is fantastic for comic lovers. The rooms are a bit small and lack a desk, which might be inconvenient for business travelers who need to work, but they can always use the lobby. The lobby also offers various hot and cold beverages, which is a nice touch. The only downside was that the showerhead couldn't be fixed in place, making showering a bit tricky.

I stayed here twice, both times it was clean, quiet, and reasonably priced. The location is super convenient with a shopping street and convenience stores downstairs. It's also really close to the Nijo-jo Mae subway station and Nijo JR station, and the bus stop is just a few steps away, making it perfect for me.

Comfortable, quiet room, clean towels every day. Free coffee and tea, also i saw matcha bowls ready to use if you want to taste well known Japanese matcha)
Also I enjoyed atmosphere in lobby: everyone is reading and sitting peacefully.
Enjoyed this staying a lot!

Definetely will be back again. The room was spacious. There are rooftop. Tons of mangas. Smoking room. The staffs were helpful and great in english.

This is my favourite hotel on our travels around Japan. The room size was a little small but it was fine for a few nights as a base to explore Kyoto. It's walking distance from some great sites like Nijo Castle, the Samurai Ninja museum and the bustling market. The transport links are great and easy to get to most places of interest.
Staff were very helpful and even rushed to fetch towels when we came in from the rain.
There is no restaurant on site so, breakfast is only a bento box but it was so tasty! And there's a fantastic little cafe/restaurant just down the street (to the right as you leave the hotel) which was lovely for dinner.
My only suggestion is that it would be nice to have a larger selection of manga in English or other languages.

Nijo Castle is within walking distance. The hotel entrance and lobby are spacious and clean. Breakfast is a unique Japanese bento box style. There's a Lawson convenience store and a shopping street right next door, with plenty of restaurants. The hotel's biggest highlight is the extensive manga collection; you can borrow up to 20 volumes to read in your room. It's truly enjoyable!
