Hotel Emion KYOTO in Kyoto

I haven’t had such an amazing experience at a hotel before. Hotel Emion may be a 3-star hotel but it feels like a 5-star hotel with 10/10 service from the staff. The rooms are bigger than other hotels in Japan, giving me and my husband space for all 4 of our luggages.

The location is great: one stop from Kyoto station, connecting to the subway platform, a 24 hour convenience store downstairs, and restaurants everywhere nearby.

The staff was amazing and some of the most helpful that I’ve experienced. I wish I had photos to show of how amazing the room was, but even the bathroom was bigger than the other hotels we’ve stayed in Japan as well.

We would come and stay here over and over again when we come back to Kyoto!

The room was spacious, and the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, with the shower area being quite large. The room overlooked the fish market, and the hotel is right next to the Railway Museum. It's only one stop from Kyoto Station, which is very convenient. The hotel's shopping arcade has several restaurants, including a famous yakiniku place that's worth trying. The hotel breakfast is a buffet with a decent selection, though it might not suit Chinese tastes.

Stayed for 4 nights in winter. Didn't try the onsen, but the hotel offers excellent value for money. Its location in Umekoji is just one stop from Kyoto Station and provides direct access to attractions like Arashiyama. The facilities and decor are very new and clean, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom, and timely housekeeping. The 37 sq m triple room was surprisingly spacious. The breakfast was delicious, and my family especially loved the grilled saury. The service was friendly, and we even received dining vouchers. There are multiple restaurants downstairs to choose from. Highly recommended!

This hotel was super nice and clean!!! Very spacious room and it the public bath was wonderfull after a cold busy day!!

Convenient and Good location, just 5 minutes to Kyoto station , friendly staffs and nice view of the rooftop.

This hotel deserves a glowing review, no question about it! The location is super convenient, right outside Umekoji-Kyotonishi Station on the San-in Line, and next to the Railway Museum. The hotel design is beautiful and grand, and the rooms are huge – really, really spacious. Cleanliness is also impeccable. The front desk staff are incredibly friendly and attentive; they remember guests' needs, which is a really thoughtful touch. Honestly, staying here made me love Kyoto even more!

Our stay at Hotel Emion was the highlight of our Kyoto trip, truly excellent. The rooms are incredibly spacious, and the service is meticulous and thoughtful. Fresh pajamas were provided daily, which was lovely as the hotel has its own hot spring for guests to enjoy. We even received vouchers that could be used at the hotel's souvenir shop or restaurants. Breakfast was my absolute favorite – it felt distinctly Kyotoan, a refreshing change from typical hotel breakfasts. It even snowed during our stay, and the hotel has a rooftop viewing area, which made for a truly romantic experience. All in all, a very satisfying hotel; I'd definitely choose it again.

The hotel is just one subway stop away from Kyoto Station. There's a shuttle bus that runs between the hotel and Kyoto Station, and you can get discount coupons at the hotel lobby. It's 100 yen per ride for both adults and children. On the second floor, there's a restaurant, and on the first floor, there are shops and experience centers for flower arrangement, tea ceremony, and pottery. The hotel also provides discount coupons for dining on the second floor, with no restrictions on use. Each coupon is worth 1000 yen, and we received and used all four of them.

Behind the hotel is the Central Fish Market. I recommend visiting between 4-5 AM to witness the wholesale auction. We arrived at 5:45 AM and it was almost over. If waking up that early is too difficult, exploring all the exhibitions in the corridor on the second floor will also provide a lot of interesting insights.

Next to the hotel are Umekoji Park, an aquarium, and a railway museum, making it very suitable for families with children.

The hotel rooms are spacious, and the hot spring on the third floor is very comfortable. There's also a rooftop on the ninth floor where you can enjoy the night view.

The hotel is in an excellent location with very convenient transportation. It’s only a few minutes’ walk to the JR station and is surrounded by many bus routes. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, along with several 7-11 convenience stores.
The room is very spacious, quiet, and comfortable. It is well maintained and cleaned thoroughly every day, making the stay very pleasant. Highly recommended!

Very nice hotel stay, room is big, bath is good, clean and separate toilet and shower.
Near to train station and there's Kyoto wholesale market next to the hotel.
