APA Hotel Kanda-Ekimae in Tokyo

Compact but spotless. If you’re a couple with two large suitcases each, space will feel tight — unless you cleverly slide them under the bed (yes, there’s space). The bathroom is reminiscent of an airplane lavatory, but with a petite bathtub that gives it just a touch more generosity.

Check-in is at 3 PM, and check-out is at 10 AM — notably shorter than a 24-hour stay. Expect a charge for early check-ins or late check-outs. Room cleaning ends at 1 PM, after that you’ll have to wait the next day.

Helpful and courteous. I once misplaced my tote bag, and the front desk staff kindly reviewed the CCTV upon request. Turns out I’d left it in a taxi — and the driver personally returned it to the hotel. Bless them both.

📍 Location
Excellent. Just 100 meters from the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, and surrounded by charming, affordable hole-in-the-wall eateries in every direction. A commuter’s dream.

✅ Verdict
Great value for solo travelers or couples who pack light. Functional, clean, and well-located — just don’t expect to roll out a yoga mat.

I booked this for my mother. She said it was clean and nice, and close to the station.

I arrived much earlier than planned, but was able to check in and relax.

The bed was a bit short, but the facilities were clean.

The room was great, of course as we know it would be small, but definitely doable for 2 people. The pillows were horrible and felt like a sponge. Until I asked for another pillow then was it better, but my sister pillows still wasn’t comfortable.

The hotel gave a lot of amenities that you truly don’t need to come with any toiletries. Shavers, hair tie, q-tips, hair brush, etc. They also bring ALOT of towels, every day, which were ALOT because we didn’t need that many. They also had a luggage scale, which we could use.

Also vending machines were offered. The best thing about this hotel was the location.

Great location. Less than 5 minute walk to Kanda station, just across the street from a 7/11, and tons of local restaurants around. Quiet and safe area to walk around at night from the station or even from Akihabara (around a 10 minute walk).
Hotel room itself is pretty small, but perfect for a solo traveller. Everyday the amenities are replenished including towels and a yukata. Staff are friendly and accommodating even with guests with language barriers. They offer luggage storage before check-in and after check-out.

Super convenient location right next to Kanda Station (in between Tokyo station and Akihabara). Perfect for getting around Tokyo with the Yamanote line. The rooms are small but clean, modern, and well-designed. Staff were friendly, check-in was fast. Also some eating / drinking spots in the street. Would definitely stay again.

It was a nice place. But you know, it’s a hotel. We sleep there. Important things were good, air conditioning, shower. Everything else was a perk. The toilet seats were great.
